The bedroom is a sacred place, a personal sanctuary. It is where you go to for rest after a long day. It is a room that deserves to be treated with respect. Just because it’s not on display like the living room, it doesn’t mean that your sleeping space should go without style updates.
We’re not suggesting you give your room a complete makeover, just a few small changes that can go a long way in rejuvenating your sleep space. We’ve put together some budget-friendly ideas for taking your bedroom from drab to fab!
1. Accent a Wall
Who says your bedroom walls have to all be the same colour? Adding an accent wall is an easy and great way to brighten up your room. It gives the room a new dimension and makes it feel more alive.
2. Decorate with Wall Decals
If you find repainting your walls is too tedious a task, you can easily jazz it up with wall decals. With so many designs around, you’d be spoilt for choice!
3. Accent with Posters
Another quick and easy way to liven up an empty wall is to hang posters. Take it one step further by picking up a frame from craft shops and framing your posters, giving it a more artsy feel.
4. Repurpose Vintage Finds
One man’s trash is another’s treasure. Scour second hand shops and flea markets for unique and fabulous accessories. Old hard case suitcases make for an excellent and interesting side table that offer storage space for your knick knacks.
5. Freshen Up with Plants
If your room gets adequate sunlight, adding plants is a cheap and easy way to add life to your room. If your room doesn’t have the floor space for a pot, consider getting a sky planter. These suspended pots not only add greenery to your room, they’re also a unique and decorative piece.
6. Create a Cosy Corner
For rooms with a little more floor space, consider creating a cosy corner for reading and chilling. Just clear out a corner and throw in as many pillows or cushions as you want.
7. Change the Bed Spread
A change of sheets is probably the easiest thing you can do to give your room a new look. If you’ve been snuggling under single coloured sheets and covers all this while, consider going for something patterned.
