Rest and recreation are vital for that rejuvenation you need. Unfortunately, not everyone wants to shell out three (or even four) digits for an extravagant shopping spree or spa session. But fret not... here are some easy and affordable activities that you can treat yourself to!


1. Run your perfect hot bath

Create your own special bath cocktail by adding in your favourite essential oils or even a bath bomb! To truly unwind and relax, you can add some Lavender or rose oil for its calming properties. Before jumping in, set the mood! Dim the lights, put on a relaxing playlist and light some scented candles. Now that everything is set up, all you have to do is just lie back, close your eyes and relax...

If you do not have a tub, take a long hot shower. This is the time to thoroughly condition your skin and hair, and make sure you took care of every single part of your body.


2. Create your own face mask


Long work or school days can really take a toll on your skin – making it look dull and gray. To brighten up that tired face, you can create your own face mask in less than 5 minutes! Simply chop a cuccumber in thin slices and place them all over your face (don't forget the eyes!). Leave them on for around fifteen minutes to really let your skin absorb all the nutrients from the fruit. While waiting, you can take a nap, watch TV, or listen to good music. We guarantee that your skin (& mood) will feel fresh and brighter after!

3. Use fragrances


Put diffusers or light up some candles around your house.Fragrances can help to freshen up your home and calm you down. There are also a great selection of fragrances in the market, so you can for sure find one to your liking!

5. Whip up a delicious & healthy treat!


Nothing makes you feel better than knowing you are taking good care of yourself. Put your cooking skills to the test by making yourself a delicious and healthy snack. With plenty of amazing tutorials on Youtube, there's no reason why you can't try! The process of cooking or baking can be really theraputic as well.

6. Binge watch your shows


Get into your pyjamas and jump in bed because you have some serious TV-show catching up to do! Now that Netflix is in Singapore, you can now literally do a "netflix and chill" in the comfort of your own home. To make things sweeter, pop some popcorn!

7. Sit outside

This one technically is not something you can do at home, but Singapore is known as the "garden city" for a reason. Take a short walk to the nearest park or reservoir and let nature work its magic! Looking at greenery promotes good mental, physical and emotional well-being. If silence bores you, listen to some music while sipping on your preferred drink— smoothie, tea, or beer.

8. Much needed sleep time

Sleep is the best way to relax and unwind. Not only will it be good for your health, it also helps to instantly put you in a good mood! Whenever work is relatively light, squeezing in short naps will help you recharge. If you don't have the luxury of time to take naps during the day, it is therefore more important to instill good sleeping habits. Having at least 8 hours of sleep each night will be the first step to having a good day at work or school!
