Our laundry area is next to our kitchen, leading to the common toilet. We’ve made use of the exposed piping to hang a plant for some greenery! 
We also retained the old fixed bamboo pole racks from the previous owner to hang some decor pieces and plants. We also recently added in this compact dishwasher which is perfect for our 2 person household. This is also where we do most of our plant pruning / flower arrangement so naturally we keep our plant related items out on the counter here. 
We have a rubbish chute within our unit so we extended the kitchen cabinetry to conceal the rubbish chute from plain view. We tend to do our laundry at night, so an indoor drying system was a must have for us. 
We make use of the under counter space with this trolley, which holds all our laundry necessities.
