  • Welcome to our 8 years old 4 Room HDB (Resale) in the North-East. We are a family of 3 and have been staying here for slightly more than a year. Our home style is more towards modern minimalist/modern contemporary. We try to keep our home spacious and clutter-free, but having a little one also means having tonnes of things. Our strategy for a clutter-free home is to hide it! We want a home that is relaxing, calming and easy to clean. So, we chose mostly neutral tones and kept our design simple with mostly closed shelvings to lessen dust accumulation.
  • Red 'X' - hacked by previous owners Blue 'X' - hacked by us This is the original floor plan. The previous owners hacked one of the rooms to make the living room bigger, which we love! Here comes the dilemma. We wanted a kids' room as well as an office space, but I didn't want to build back a room and downsize our spacious living area. That's when the idea of a 'Closet' Office came to mind, and thankfully, Mr. husband accepted my suggestion.
  • This is the new layout for our home. Can you spot the little closet office we've added? More curved corners were also introduced throughout the house, so our little one can run around freely with a peace of mind.
  • This is the entryway, aka our daughter's little dance corner! We specifically wanted full-length mirrors as our girl enjoys dancing in front of the mirror. Having mirrors at the entryway also make our living area look bigger.
  • Our TV feature wall has quite a fair bit of storage space to hide our barang barangs, wirings, and TV setup box. We chose ripped fluted panels over regular ones as it gives a softer feel.
  • His Space Take a peek into the closet office, aka Mr. husband's mancave. He appreciates darker tones, and he spends most of his time here on his computer.
  • Her Space This space has become my designated chill and crafting corner (IG: @littleyarnfriends), a place for me to unwind and enjoy the unblocked view we are blessed with. Both of us value our me time so having His and Her Space at home is important.
  • We have 3 frameless doors. One leads to the office, one to hide our bomb shelter and the other for the common bathroom.
  • Due to limited kitchen space, we hacked away our service yard to achieve a longer counter space. We have open shelves on one side to make it look less cramp.
  • We use dekton for both backsplash and countertop for easy cleaning and seamless look. We also designed 2 pocket doors in our kitchen which we will share more in weeks to come.
  • Our small display which leads to the entryway and living room.
  • Our master bedroom is kept simple. The black bar is where we hang our worn clothes that are still too clean to go to the washer. The highlight of the master bedroom has to be our BIG customised bed! We combined a super single & queen size mattress together since our daughter still co-sleep with us. The bed is removable and can be separated into queen and super single respectively. We can move the super single bed to the other room when she is older. Read more in our Bedroom Post. :)
  • Ending this post with the cutest space in the entire house, my daughter's playroom! That's all for now and thank you for taking time to embark on this virtual house tour with us. Till next time! :)
