  • This week, we are tasked to share how we organise our kitchen. I am no organisation guru, and what I'm about to share is probably very basic and general. But feel free to take a look at what's beneath our drawers. πŸ€ͺ There are 3 simple rules that I follow when it comes to organising our kitchen/home. 1) Group similar things together 2) Buy and keep what you need 3) Put everything back in its place With these 3 rules in mind, let me show you around. :)
  • We use blum mechanism for all our drawers. The bottom drawer is where we put all our cookware and kitchen appliances. It's tall and sturdy enough to fit my bigger appliances such as instant pot, air fryer and rice cooker.
  • The top is where we put our cutlery. We got the adjustable cutlery trays from Nitori. (Saved us time from measuring and searching for the right tray to fit our drawer) The middle drawer is where we put our plates and bowls. We prefer to stack it up as we feel it saves more space. We don't have that many plates too, so far not a hassle for us. :)
  • This is supposedly our service yard. Hacking away our service yard and extending our countertop and drawers allow us to store more things. :)
  • This cabinet is built to cover up the pipes. We were advised not to build any shelvings in case we might need to access the pipes in the future. To fully utilise this space, we bought these racks to put our cleaning items. (And my husband's fishing rods)
  • This shelf sits on top of our washing machine, so we use it to put our daily use hangers, clothes pegs, and washing detergents.
  • We make use of these foldable laundry baskets to put our dirty clothes. This was supposedly a temporary solution while looking for a nice laundry basket. But we end up liking this setup as it's super light, easy to move around to clean the floor. It's also easy to fold and keep away when guests visit, to make our kitchen look less cluttered.
  • Upper cabinet to store our cups and glasses.
  • Pocket door to hide our chunky microwave oven to free up our counterspace.
  • Condiments pull out rack.
  • And lastly, our little pantry where we keep our tea. The lower drawer is for my daughter to easily access her snacks. :) We do have another drawer to put more unhealthy snacks. (Adult snacks) 🀭 That's all. Hope you managed to gain some pointers and tips to organise your dream kitchen. Stay connected on Instagram @rachieehome.
