Couple Living with Kids

Our precious little one was a main factor for the design of our house. Everything was thought out with the intention of safety and having a big open space where one is able to look across to the other side of the house at one glance. This thus created much space in the living area, which means more space for her to play.
Here's a little showcase of a part of our living room (a big part actually!) that has been the default designated area for fun for our little one. We're really proud of this DIY-customised IKEA kitchen set that we sanded and painted with some bold pastel colour to make it fancy. Great accomplishment ;)
We managed to find a suitable space for our keyboard, right between the entryway, kitchen and living area. By placing it on a bench to keep it low, the instrument is readily accessible to our kid anytime she decides to express her little spurts of musical flair.
We searched high and low for this now-discontinued IKEA children's table and bench (which now holds the keyboard). We first eyed it even before we had a kid! Curved edges with that nice wine coloured brushed metal leg and structure together with the wooden table top. We eventually managed to find this secondhand set which is now where art and craft magic happens.
Every trip to IKEA always ends up with us buying something, whether big or small, or at least a hotdog. IKEA is littered with little treasures that are constantly being updated, this book display is one such treasure. Just the right amount of minimal and simple, yet practical and sturdy, and able to blend in and match most house themes with wood.
This is part of the entryway where we've placed a neat step stool from Boori for our little one to sit and wear her socks and shoes every time we prepare to head out and when we return home. This little space has helped encourage our little one to cultivate this good habit as she's able to comfortably do what we are doing together with us.
