  • Designing a kitchen is more than just choosing appliances and countertops; it’s about creating a space that reflects personal style while serving as the heart of the home. When it came to designing my own kitchen, I wanted a space that felt both inviting and highly functional—a place where I could cook, entertain, and enjoy the everyday tasks of life. Each design element was chosen with purpose, with me being more of an ID than my actual ID. I will be splitting my posts in 2 parts, and this post focuses on the details. First up, we designed a pull-out tray that accommodates our microwave. Initially, we considered placing the rice cooker here instead, allowing us to pull out the tray and let the steam escape. However, since our rice cooker is dainty and small, we decided that the microwave would utilize the space more effectively. Voila! Now, we can conveniently read the instructions on the side of the microwave while enjoying the benefits of a well-organized kitchen.
  • To maximize the functionality of my kitchen, I installed a power track, which has been a game-changer when it comes to accommodating multiple appliances. The power track allows for flexible positioning of plugs, making it easy to add or remove appliances without being limited to fixed power outlets. Whether I need to use my blender, rice cooker, or coffee machine, I can easily plug them in without cluttering the counter with extension cords or worrying about outlet space. The power track also blends seamlessly into the kitchen design, maintaining the clean and modern aesthetic I worked hard to achieve. It’s both practical and unobtrusive, giving me the flexibility to expand as my needs evolve, whether it’s for everyday cooking or when I want to experiment with new appliances in the future. On the left-hand side of my kitchen, I incorporated a seamless storage solution specifically for our Dolce Gusto coffee pods. This hidden compartment not only keeps the pods neatly organized but also ensures they are easily accessible whenever we want a quick cup of coffee. I love how this storage blends effortlessly into the overall design of the kitchen, keeping the countertop clutter-free while still making the pods a convenient part of our daily routine.
  • One of the standout features of my spice rack is its innovative "drawer in drawer" design. This clever setup allows me to maximize storage while keeping everything organized. The top drawer provides easy access to my most frequently used spices, while the hidden drawer below offers additional space for less commonly used items, ensuring that I can keep my collection tidy and efficient.
  • The same design is applied to the other drawers too. Pro tip - it shouldn't cost any additional costs for your ID to do this for you. Please check!
  • In my kitchen, I took care to keep the design sleek and uncluttered by neatly hiding the appliance switches behind a discreet drawer. This thoughtful placement not only maintains the clean lines of the space but also prevents any visual chaos that exposed switches might create. Additionally, I’ve incorporated a $3!! hidden towel rack in the same area, ensuring that kitchen towels are always within reach while remaining out of sight. This dual functionality enhances the kitchen's overall aesthetics and allows for a more streamlined look, combining practicality with a sophisticated design that I truly appreciate.
  • In my kitchen, I have invested for an under-counter Blanco sink, which adds a sleek and modern touch to the space. While it is a bit more pricey, I thought it made sense since we will use the kitchen sink rather frequently. This design not only creates a seamless look but also makes cleaning easier, as there are no edges to trap dirt or grime. Yes, the tap in my kitchen is a pull-out design, modeled after a Hans-Grohe fixture but sourced from Taobao. We opted for this replica to enjoy the same functionality without the premium price tag associated with the brand. This pull-out feature adds versatility to the kitchen, making tasks like rinsing vegetables or filling large pots much more convenient.
  • In my kitchen, one of the most practical additions I made was installing an automatic water dispenser that can provide both warm and hot water on demand. As someone who drinks a lot of warm water throughout the day, having this dispenser has become a staple in my daily routine. Whether I’m making tea in the morning or preparing a quick bowl of cup noodles, the convenience of instantly getting the right water temperature has made it an indispensable part of my kitchen. The ones in Singapore are all out of my budget so I am thankful to have found this Xiaomi gem that costs only $460!! The beauty of this dispenser lies in its versatility, as it can be swiveled from left to right, allowing me to easily fill pots in the sink with hot water. You can also adjust the temperate right to the tee, alongside the volume too. I appreciate the sleek design that complements the clean, modern feel of my kitchen without being intrusive. And yes, if you are wondering, it comes with a bigger water filter where we hid it below the sink.
