Welcome back to our modern-luxe haven, a space that exudes elegance and style. Having been to a number of staycations and holidays together, we decided to adopt some of the features we love from our hotel stays into our bedroom so as to constantly feel that we are on a staycation. For our bedroom, we divided it into three zones- Mister E's mancave (which we will showcase in our work area post), sleeping area as well as our walk-in wardrobe. To create an atmosphere of elegance and timeless style sanctuary, we designed our bedroom with the use of: - neutral palette with bold accents - statement pieces - elegant lightings - luxurious textiles - smart tech devices
- Use of neutral palette and statement piece As this space is designed for sleeping, we decided to use a base of deep, moody colours like light & dark grey and rich black. These hues set a dramatic and cozy tone, perfect for a luxurious retreat. We used black out curtains to create an ideal sleeping environment. The focal point in this zone of the room is the brown bed frame from Woosa. The elegant and bold colour of this bed frame sure elevated the aesthetic of this zone. Besides loving the look of this bed, we absolutely enjoy the functions and comfort that the Woosa adjustable bed brings. The easy adjustment of head & foot elevations combined with the soothing vibrations that ease muscle tension are all made possible with a touch of a few buttons.
We absolutely love how there are pockets at the bottom of the bed for us to keep our remote controls. This definitely helps to keep the room clutter free. The Woosa bed frame also comes with USB ports which allows us to charge our devices, right from our bedside.
- Use of elegant lightings and luxurious textiles We chose to put wall sconce lights to create a soft and ambient lighting to enhance the moody atmosphere. We also love our Prism+ ceiling light. This ceiling light comes in three colour tones for us to switch to the various lights to best suit the mood we want. For our bedsheets, we were blessed to have received this set of bamboo bedsheets from our loved ones. The sumptuous fabric add warmth and comfort, creating a plush and inviting environment. Coupled with the soft velvety plushness of our mattress, sleeping is made so comfortable. There are certainly many days where we have difficulties waking up BLEAH :P
- Use of smart tech device When you see tech items, you definitely know this side of the bed belongs to Mister E. Here's his set up to charge his iPhone, Apple watch as well as his Apple Homepod Mini for us to turn on the lights of our room, control the brightness and colour via Siri or the Home app on our iPhones. This definitely transforms our bedroom into a cutting-edge sanctuary with the seamless integration of smart technology. By combining luxury with innovation, we love how this space is not only beautiful but also incredibly functional.
We also transformed our bedroom into a sophisticated sanctuary by seamlessly integrating a walk-in wardrobe. We hacked away the wall between the master bedroom and our second common room. This union of luxury and functionality creates a harmonious connection between our modern luxe bedroom and walk-in area. For design continuity, we used the same color palette, flooring, and laminates to create a cohesive and unified look. We framed the entrance to our walk-in closet with elegant features like sliding glass doors.
To create contrasting accents, we balanced the dark tones with metallic accents in gold. The light fixtures and gold accessories add a touch of glamour and reflect light beautifully. We also added in a carpet to create a hotel luxe vibe.
We strive to strike the perfect balance of style and functionality by having a blend of see-through and non-see-through cabinets. We chose glass-front cabinets to display our cherished items like handbags, Mister E's jerseys, watches and accessories. The LED lighting inside the see-through cabinets helps to highlight our collection and create a luxurious ambiance. As Mister E is organised and neat, he took the side of the glass-front cabinets. We chose solid-front cabinets for items we prefer to keep out of sight, such as everyday clothing, undergarments, or seasonal items. This helps maintain a clean and uncluttered look. For me, the solid-front cabinet is suitable for me to hide all the mess I am capable of creating oops.
A dedicated vanity space within our walk-in wardrobe. We flushed this area with the sleek vanity table and decorated this area with a golden, illuminated mirror and plush seating. This area sure adds a touch of glamour and practicality to our morning and night routine.
Adding a personal touch to our bedroom with these items that have sentimental value to me. The jesmonite tray and perfume were lovingly done together with my sisters to celebrate life milestones together and I truly cherish these happy memories. In a nutshell, the zoning of our bedroom with the use of smart technology makes it a a sanctuary of sophistication, comfort and convenience. We love how this perfect blend of elegance and innovation ensures that this space is not only visually stunning but also highly functional, making our bedroom a haven for the ultimate retreat.
