  • Another week, another sharing of ‘Before and Afters’! Today we’ll share a quick one on our concealed vanity area. As this area wasn’t a priority for us, we kinda left it up to fate (aka our ID). But we love how it matches our minimalist design so let’s go! —— A “before” snapshot from our bare house tour video. This is where our L shaped wardrobe + concealed vanity will be at.
  • Welcome in! 👋🏻 Due to space constraints and our lifestyle, we didn’t want any sitting vanity area as we usually prepare rather quickly. (Under 20 minutes) We’re also okay with drying hair standing up! Our ID included a free mirror cabinet in our quotation and all we had to do was decide the dimensions, height from floor and placement. With that, Mr “gave up” the mirror cabinet to the Mrs and did a dressing area for himself instead. Mrs very ‘cincai’ (easygoing) one la. Got mirror, can see can already! Yup we separate our vanity area for some personal space! But of course the Mr dries his hair here la; he styles his hair in the toilet instead :) also good because you don’t want one person sleeping and the hair spray to fly all over the sleeping area 😬
  • Majority of items belong to the Mrs, with some shared items like hairdryer, pimple patches etc. Since the cabinet is concealed behind the mirror, functionality and organisation are prioritised instead of aesthetics. I separated the recycled trays for skincare and makeup; so I don’t have to bring out the makeup stuffs when I’m only doing my skincare and vice versa. — For reference, the height between the mirror cabinet and shelf is 20cm and the depth around 15-18cm. The width of mirror is around 55-60cm and fits a 40cm track socket perfectly.
  • A wider “before” view of where the wardrobe, vanity and bed would be.
  • After! We hated dirty clothes lying on bed or floor in our previous place, thus we have a small laundry basket and a towel dryer rack in the toilet for such needs. This really helps to keep the area clean. And we love the space we have here! The feeling of coming home to a clean room/floor is indescribable 😂
  • The other side of the L wardrobe that conceals the Mr’s dressing area.
  • It comes with an accessories drawer and a glass panel above for easier view of his accessories.
  • Concealed tall mirror behind the door as well. Useful and important as we don’t like exposed mirrors in the bedroom, do we? —— Hope this post has helped visualise a concealed vanity for you!
