  • Welcome back! This week we are introducing our dining and kitchen space! It's more than just a room—it's where memories are cooked up and laughter echoes. From family feasts to friend-filled brunches, this is the heart of our home. The original layout of the kitchen featured an open concept design with an island in the center. We didn't demolish any walls; instead, we restructured and raised a high kitchen countertop to provide more space for cooking and baking. And we also added high stools for seating and chilling. We chose a rounded edge dining table to visually unify the space between the dining area, kitchen, and living room. We are pleased with the final outcome and how everything came together, especially noting how well the color scheme complemented the space. As second-home owners, we've learned from past experiences. Here are some valuable insights for new homeowners, drawn from our own experiences: 1. Opting for a larger fridge, especially a French door fridge, can enhance convenience and flexibility in food storage. This style facilitates easy access to both fresh and frozen items, simplifying meal preparation and organization. 2. Installing a tower cabinet for your oven can improve the aesthetics and functionality of your kitchen. Not only does this add a stylish element to your kitchen decor, but it also eliminates the need to bend down, ensuring greater comfort and ease of use.
  • 3. Prioritize the inclusion of ample built-in storage space in your kitchen design to accommodate cookware and kitchen essentials. Incorporating functional pull-out drawers can further enhance storage efficiency, keeping your kitchen organized and clutter-free. These drawers make accessing items easier and ensure that everything has its designated place, contributing to a more functional and enjoyable kitchen space.
  • 4. Having extra space for kitchen countertop is definitely beneficial for food preparation and workspace flexibility. We encourage you to discuss this aspect with your interior designer or contractor and carefully consider it when designing your kitchen area.
  • 5. Extra countertop space allows for the placement of appliances such as toasters, coffee makers, and food processors without cluttering the workspace. This ensures that these appliances are easily accessible when needed.
  • 6. Having essential items like cookware and a fruit bowl creates a sense of home comfort and completeness. These items contribute to the functionality of the kitchen and make the space feel lived-in and inviting. Our pedestal bowl, a gift from Casa Alessia, adds to the charm of our kitchen.
  • Prioritizing aspects such as ample countertop space, thoughtful appliance placement, and functional storage solutions can truly transform your kitchen into a hub of efficiency and enjoyment. Remember, the kitchen is not just a space for cooking; it's a place where memories are made, bonds are strengthened, and healthy habits are cultivated. By incorporating these tips and insights into your kitchen design, you can create a space that not only meets your practical needs but also enhances the overall quality of your daily life. Cheers to a kitchen that inspires culinary creativity and fosters a sense of warmth and togetherness in your home!
