    • As a professional baker (I make cakes!) and someone who cooks meals daily, the kitchen is by far the fave part of my home, and the room on which I spent most of my time planning our home renovations.
    • I cook and bake A LOT - way more than the average person I would suppose - so it was crucial that I planned the kitchen meticulously and to my specifications.
    • Being a condo, the kitchen is smaller than what I was used to previously in my old resale HDB flat (which was HUGE!). I opted for a Kompacplus not only for its easy maintenance and hardiness, but for the *aesthetic* sink covers which give me more countertop space when I need it.
    • One of the key features of this kitchen is this tall pull out unit next to the oven, and right by my usual workstation where I cook and bake every single day. The tall unit fits my most-used cake pans and oven trays on the bottom tier, and my cake tools on the shallow top tier (think rolling pins, cake testers, thermometers, brushes etc).
    • Another feature that I REALLY wanted in my kitchen was a massive drawer with custom diagonal panels. This gives me ample room to neatly organise all my kitchen tools. Looking at this drawer makes me smile every single day. 😆
    • However, the star is definitely my black & glass pantry cabinet. The glass and inbuilt LED lighting showcases the most aesthetic of appliances I have - namely, my ivory Kitchenaid mixer, this cute little mini rice cooker, and the rice dispenser. The top drawer is my spice drawer. And yes, I actually do regularly use all these herbs and spices! Hehe.
    • I chose to do floating wall shelves instead of upper cabinets, so that the already tiny space doesn’t risk looking even smaller. The floating shelves house a mixture of both decorative display items, and also daily essentials like jars of sugar, cereals, biscuits. The cute little tassel baskets are home to potatoes and onions. 😄
    • We chose to do a low backsplash (also in the same Kompacplus top for continuity and sleekness) instead of the standard 2ft height for a more modern style.
    • That’s the end of the kitchen tour! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I loved styling it and sharing it with you.
