  • Hello, welcome to our cosy home! We chose the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic as we love the cozy warmth of walnut coloured wood tones. This, coupled with our love for nature and the arts, has also inspired us to incorporate elements of Bohemian style. White and walnut colour serve as the base colours of our house, and we added other pops of colours such as green, blue, yellow and shades of red to liven up the space.
  • Our floor plan is pretty straightforward, as we couldn't hack most of the structured walls. However, there goes my favourite kitchen island T.T We worked with the existing layout and smoothed the odd nooks and crannies, especially the many recess walls in the living room.
  • We wanted the space to be slightly different from the typical HDB recommended layout. By allocating our dining area near the window, we could maximise the length of the living room spatially and extend the space visually. I also romanticised the idea of an al fresco dining.
  • The dining area also features some of our plant collection to green up the space!
  • We spent quite a bit of energy to create relaxing and fun restrooms. I was particularly inspired by the restrooms of Great World City since young, where they always made me feel like I was entering another world. The experience was fascinating! We also went with the yellow tiles that our ID picked for us. Stepping into our common toilet always envelopes me in the warm embrace of summer. The vibrant tiles reminded me of the sun, light and its warmth. We gave credits to our IDs, Kenneth and Hao Wei from Key Concept, who did a good job in bringing our vision to life!
  • A more luxe version for the Master bedroom restroom to unwind and relax. Blue was chosen as the main accent colour for our Master bedroom and restroom, as it is soothing and reminds me of the sky. The subway tiles were the constant in both restrooms. I love how matt and subtle the white subway tiles are, which are in contrast with the playful blue moroccan floor tiles.
  • This is a simple master bed room layout which is currently work in progress, with some nifty details for creature comforts. More to share in later posts.
  • The kitchen is the heart of our home. We want it to be a chill and enjoyable space when we cook for our friends and family, hence green was chosen as the colour for cabinets. The moroccan backsplash tiles were chosen as they gave exotic touches and added beauty and intricacy to our kitchen. Appreciate our ID for picking such lovely tiles, realising our vision for the kitchen. Last, thanks for reading this far. We hope that this post would spark creative ideas in styling your own home.
