  • Hi from @chanceuponchanshome and welcome to our dining space in a 4-room BTO flat! We knew from a start that we wanted a round/curved dining table because a round dining table symbolises unity and harmony. Besides, curves soften sharp edges and allow easier movement between spaces.
  • You may not realise but our dining table is 1.8m long and it fits perfectly in our dining area! The spacious 1.8m long table allows comfortable space for 6-8pax. It is also the space that people like to crowd around and have conversations because a high table (1.2m height) encourages people to hang out, naturally! Our flat layout is perfect for open concept designs and allows for flexible furnitures arrangement. Thus, we decided that our dining area is gonna be right between the sofa, kitchen and the entryway!
  • How can anyone not love this dining table? We chanced upon this dining table when we were furniture hunting in JB, Malaysia. Despite the rather hefty price tag, we decided to buy it because it was love at first sight for both of us! We will never forget the moment we laid eyes on this piece and knew that we would regret it if we didn’t bring it home. We got some opinions on getting pricier dining tables and a good one was it can be reused in our next home. Thank you to the home design community for this! It comes with a stone table top that looks almost like Labradorite, and a curved wooden fluted base, giving luxurious vibes for our cozy and modern dining area.
  • These are the textures we incorporated into our dining space for a sophisticated design: Boucle fabric dining chairs, glossy stone table top and a wooden table base. These different textures come together perfectly for our dining area. The colours we picked for our furnishings are also on the neutral palette to allow for easier matching!
  • We also purchased a leather and floral fabric tissue holder to reinforce the luxurious vibes.
  • Carefully chosen travertine lookalike pendant light to enhance the dining space.
  • Our cozy dining space with a touch of lux.
  • This is also the space where the Mrs. might do her work because she has her coffee while working. We have sockets on both sides of the wall and this allows for charging of devices conveniently. It’s also definitely a space for conversations as the TV is near but not too near. There’s music but not too much visual distractions. (You will know it if you have a kid 😂) What do you think of our design and how do you think we can improve? Let us know in the comments! 🤍
