  • Welcome to our dining room! Although a part of our dining table extends into the kitchen area but we managed to make it look seamless by putting a curved border across spaces.
  • Everyday dining at home feels like resort dining due to our wooden beams and rattan ceilings. We complement this with our dark wood pendant lamp, which we bought from a light shop in Balestier, called Light Zone.
  • We like to mix-and-match the different items in our home, which is very authentically Filipino. Filipino interiors are typically maximalist in this aspect. Our plates and bowls are thrifted from a shop in Haig Road. A mama shop sells rejected plates and cutleries from restaurants like Sushi Tei. It's a sustainable way to have so many items!
  • For variety, I also like changing up my flowers or plants. I order all of them from Jimei Flowers, because they're priced so well! In this pic, I removed the Birds of Paradise, and kept just the leaves. Still beautiful! I also like buying printed napkins from Ikea for a pop of variety sometimes!
  • But for special events like Christmas, I like to try new things, like learning how to fold napkins in a more creative way.
  • As you can see, during our Christmas holiday, we fully extended our dining table. This dining table is 2m when fully extended, and 1.5m when closed. Perfect for days when it's just my husband and I, and even on days when we have 10 guests or so!
  • A bonus feature! When all the food was done - we kept it aside, and using painters tape, we created our own game! It's safe to remove and didn't leave any marks on our wooden table.
  • Over the Christmas celebrations, one of my favourite short-cuts was Bob the Baker Boy's cake sets! Each cake came with paper plates, paper forks, candles - so we didn't need to worry about cleaning up or setting up!
  • This Christmas brownie served 15 people!
  • With good food, fun games, creative decor, and happy friends - we really enjoyed our hosting season and try to make all our meal times just as fun!
