  • Hello!! Welcome to our dining space :) We kept this space in line with the theme of the rest of the house - mid-modern, woody, and clean. Our idea of having darker wooden elements in the house stemmed from wanting to have a wooden dining table. While it would mostly be just the two of us at home, we envisioned hosting our family and friends more often and centred the idea of having a space that could fit more people.
  • We sourced quite a few places for our dining table but none really caught our eye for the size we wanted or was within our budget, until we found this piece of wooden slab at Tan Boon Liat. They offered us the option of customising it to the size and legs that we wanted, and choose the fabrics and colour of the chairs that would come along with it.
  • We wanted a dining table set with at least 2 chairs and a bench so that we could potentially fit more people, and this gave us the option of switching it to either side. Although we initially thought to have the bench closer to the shoe cabinet for a dual purpose when we are wearing our shoes, we decided to have the chairs face the TV so that on nights that we want to catch a movie over dinner, it would be more comfortable for the both of us.
  • We loveee our 2 wooden dining chairs as it isn't too big and bulky, and has the perfect shape to let us rest our arms on the armrest when we want. This is also great as there are times that we shift our laptop to do work here and the seat makes it feel more comfortable to work on. The yellow table lamp was one that we bought in Copenhagen during our honeymoon. We love that it adds a pop of colour to our woody home.
  • We kept this place with absolutely no build-in carpentry so that we have the flexibility to move our furniture around and accommodate more people when we have guests. On the occasion of us having a huge party, we are able to move the table to fit more chairs around or extend the space with another table. Hope you are enjoying this tour of our home so far! We'll catch you soon :)
