  • Welcome to one of our favourite space where we wind down for the day! Due to the constraint of the space, our only goal when it came down to designing this space was to fit a sofa, a heavy duty rack for my husband's fishes and our TV. Typically, most homeowners would usually have their sofa facing the opposite direction, but because we have an open concept kitchen and hacked the walls to the third bedroom to create a home office, we wanted to create the feeling of interactive spaces where we would be able to interact and connect with the TV wherever we are.
  • When we first visited our home, it was a plain and white unit. I have lived through the all-white interior in my own room back when when I was living in my family home. It was nice while it lasted and eventually, I got bored of the white and grey theme. Naturally, I wanted a warmer theme in my own home. The biggest difference that I believe made the whole space look instantly warmer was painting the entire home a warm beige colour. When my husband and I finished painting our first room, including the ceilings, we were in awe with how just paint alone could make an empty canvas feel more like home.
  • We don’t have any built-ins, but knowing how fickle I am, I know that I would want to constantly change things up. What you see here may possibly change again in the next year or so!
  • On one wall of the living room, I let my husband take over the space with his aquarium fish hobby. We already planned from the beginning and knew we needed sturdy shelves that can withstand multiple fish tanks. So, we got an extra bombshelter rack specifically just for this purpose. For the most part, our home is relatively finished, in a way. We're left to refine the space further in terms of decor, organisation and adding more of our personality through colours. Having a beige neutral home in the beginning is a great way to set the bones of our home, but now it's time for us to have some fun incorporating design aspects that we love all around our home.
  • Due to our low budget, we really took our time to furnish our home, starting from the most important essential we needed, and slowly added everything else after. We got our sofa a few months after we moved in and had a picnic mat for awhile with our TV on the floor. It was rough, but we made it through 💪🏻
