  • Hellooo and welcome to our woody home 🪵🪴✨ At the time of writing, we are a pair of newlyweds who have moved in for a full 8 weeks ☺️ Our handle @pinesofsunlight is conceived because we wanted our house to have lots of daylight pouring in ☀️ This meant keeping a lookout for units with several large windows and, tbh, was expected not to be an easy find anymore This older unit stole our hearts immediately. Not only was it really bright and airy, it was a lot of what we had been looking for too. That evening of the viewing, we made the offer immediately. It was "the one" Oh, "pines" because 1. Tampines and 2. I knew our house was going to have a lot of wood. It all made sense 🪵🤎
  • This pictorial home tour will be a Christmas edition because the photos were self-taken in Dec 2024 - when our house was basking in the festive season! 🎄 So yes, welcome, and here is our main door Btw, look at the sunlight searing through the curtains! That is how much light our house receives ☀️
  • I have always wanted a large, standing mirror at the entrance - perfect for #ootds, group selfies, and near the windows too for light to bounce off. Mirrors have such an effect on interior design
  • Opposite the main door stands a large, plain wall. We have plans for what we would like this space to be and have deliberately kept it empty. Until we have the time (and mental capacity) to put the plan into action, this area here will remain barren for now
  • Sitting beside the standing mirror is one of my fav purchases - this highly recognisable TV console. Such a beautiful statement piece it makes✨ When planning the layout of the living & dining space, I knew we would not be having a regular sized coffee table. We could fit one in but it would take up walking space. Personally, I didn't think there would be a need for it as well - our dining area had full view of the TV anyway and I have never been fond of the idea of having meals by the sofa & coffee table
  • Here it is - the dining area! Across the living space and opposite the TV
  • This dining space used to be walled up into a room by the previous owners. When we hacked the false walls down, the area that got freed up was such a sight Will touch on this more in a separate, future post ;-)
  • Adjacent to the dining space - a mini corridor that leads to three bedrooms & one mini "storeroom"
  • Master bedroom with our king-sized bed. We are really fortunate that the house is big, allowing us to have larger pieces of furniture
  • Vanity table just beside the windows, accompanied by a dresser. The sunlight coming through is ✨✨✨
  • POV from opposite the bedroom door. Loving the bathroom doors that I had intentionally requested for the panels to be translucent Also, a full length wardrobe across 3/4 of the wall, with the prettiest wood laminate Ample walking space between the windows and bed too
  • Master bathroom Inspired by outdoor stone showers, I wanted our bathrooms to exude a muted and calm look; no patterns and minimal colours. Not forgetting the element of texture, of course, hence the stone tiles I had picked for the walls 🪨 If you have realised, the design of our house is largely influenced by nature - very woody living spaces 🪵accompanied by touches of greens 🌿 and stones 🪨
  • Love the stark contrast between the light grey & dark wood. Very clean lines with the matte white countertop too
  • This - call it recreation, study, or work room, this is just a space to do anything in. Unfortunately, we are realising very soon that we barely spend time in here
  • A small corner to lounge at. Again, the light the house receives ✨
  • A WIP here. Just random knick knacks atop the table and wall shelves. Quite barren for now
  • We have a loooong kitchen and I am so happy we do! Because of the large space, we require cabinets on just one full side. Even with both top and bottom units, the kitchen remained looking very spacious with ample walking space (although it tends to get a little dark towards on end)
  • The far end of the kitchen where the space was segregated by a L-shaped countertop, forming a makeshift service yard. This layout was from the previous owners and we stuck to it. It was such great use of the long space More on this next time
  • Common bathroom looking same same but just a tad bit different. It was intentional, anyway, that the two bathrooms adopted the same design - hence the exact same stone tiles for the walls 🪨 accompanied by the same dark wood fittings Not forgetting, touches of nature! 🌿🌸
  • This is all for now, for this very first post of a pictorial home tour. Am very excited to share more specific details about each room and how my visions for our house came to life Thank you for reading! Looking forward to the next post ☺️
