Hey there, folks! Welcome to our cozy Japandi-inspired home nestled in the northern region of Singapore.
Our house is a 1184sqft 5-room BTO located right next to a lush forest and just a short walk from the sea. We fell in love with this place because we both adore spending time outdoors and have a deep appreciation for nature.
Our home warmly welcomes wood and the tactile beauty of stone as its main elements.
This is the original layout of our house. We knocked down the walls of bedroom 3 to further extend the living room area and to include an open-study.
Our open-study, also known as the cozy corner of our home, is the go-to-spot for work and relaxation. Fun Fact - Before we purchased our bed, we used to sleep here just because we enjoyed this space so much!
Another Fun Fact - I'm an illustrator/artist! Spot my artwork :) We’re currently in the midst of decorating our cozy corner. While we’re dedicated to the Japandi theme, we’re also embracing a bit of quirkiness in this space to create a contrast. We’re excited to introduce a different look into this cozy nook, setting it apart from our home’s original theme.
My husband is a coffee enthusiast who takes delight in brewing a good cup of black coffee. We’ve set aside a special spot just for his coffee-making adventures! We love how the whole house gets infused with the aroma of coffee. Our kitchen island stands as a statement piece in our home. We searched high and low for the perfect matte texture that fit within our budget, and we finally discovered this gem. The colour and the flow of the marble’s pattern were what we had been looking for.
Our love for natural light inspired our colour choices. We aimed for an open and airy atmosphere to flood the space with light. That's why we opted for simplicity, favouring shelves over cabinets to achieve this vision.
