  • Welcome in! This week we're featuring the entryway of the house... We're not shoe fanatics but we have a total of THREE shoe cabinets. And this excludes the two shoe racks outside! Guess we like our storage options! 😁 Read on to see where these feet, I mean, fit in...
  • Let's start with our favorite one... This cabinet conceals our DB box and was previously just a conventional set of white cupboards. Kinda boring, so we redid it. ID proposed a recessed cupboard door and illuminated sides for a layered "jewel box" effect. To allow us a last chance to check that our outfits are not weird, we placed mirrors on the door panels, which also reflect light from the kitchen into the corridor.
  • We wanted a lot of things for our entryway; storage for shoes of course, but also seating for us to wear shoes and an area to dump the kids' bag when we return. Our ID and his magical carpenters made all these happen with this sliding drawer bench! Push it in and the area is neat and spacious, pull out one layer and it becomes a bench or a surface to put stuff, pull out another layer and it reveals a deep storage area for bags. Friends who visit are usually amazed when we show them this Transformer cabinet 😁
  • The main area is still largely empty, save for our internet related items and random rubbish that has not been sorted out months after moving in. New home owners, i'm sure you know this inertia 😜 Oh, and a handy mini fire extinguisher too for emergencies. The shelf heights can be adjusted with the AA tracks so we're not constrained to any configuration. And if we need to access the DB box, we just take out the panel. Highly recommend AA tracks instead of fixed nails for maximum flexibility.
  • Moving on to the shoe cabinet nearest to the door. Since this is the first area we see upon returning home and last before leaving home, it is the place for us to put our keys, spare coins and mozzie sprays/ sunscreen. We built a small niche with mirror backing for this, and kept the color scheme consistent with our kitchen.
  • We're still in August so it's still timely for some patriotism with this Dragon playground plate.
  • A section for umbrellas inside the cupboard. Don't forget to account for some space above the hanging bar so you can put in and take out the umbrellas easily.
  • And here's the third shoe cabinet! This one is outside the house and provided by the developer for all units. Yay for free storage!
  • Hodor! Our door is able to stay open with its magnetic arm but sometimes the wind is so strong that it still slams shut, so we got this cute little door stopper wedge for added safety.
  • It's time for me to show you the door, literally. πŸ˜… Thank you for sticking around till the end and for meeting our three shoe cabinets. I guess each has its unique purpose! Shout out as always if you have any questions or comments, and see you next time!!
