  • Welcome to Our House Tour! We're thrilled to share our special space with you. Before we dive in, let's start with a little background about us. I come from a design background, while my partner's expertise lies in logistics. Our contrasting perspectives shape our approach to home design. Growing up, we both experienced clutter in our childhood homes. That's why we were determined to create a space that's minimalist, calm, and clutter-free. We wanted our home to feel like a breath of fresh air. For us, home is where simplicity, clean lines, and soft colours come together. We've carefully curated every detail to create a warm and inviting space that works for both of us. The total renovation cost is around 45k excluding furnishing.
  • Our apartment is located at the North-East region and this is our floorplan where we've kept the original layout intact.
  • We've carefully renovated our apartment to enhance functionality and comfort, preserving the original layout. In the living room, minimal carpentry maintains an airy feel, avoiding clutter. Soft furnishings reflect our personal style. The dining area features a 1.4m table, conveniently positioned near the kitchen where we gather for our meals and conversations. The master bedroom now includes a built-in vanity desk for added versatility, while a revamped wardrobe provides enhanced storage and organisation.
  • As you step into our living room, you'll notice the personal touches that make this space truly ours. One of my favourite features is the harmonious interplay of texture and light, which creates a serene atmosphere. This thoughtful blend of the personal and practical results in a warm, welcoming space that reflects our story and personality.
  • Our space balances modern simplicity with a cozy, lived-in feel – think cozy blankets, favourite books, and subtle imperfections. Every corner exudes calm energy, making our home a tranquil retreat that's both welcoming and stylishly curated.
  • I believe the sense of smell has the power to evoke emotions and memories. That's why I love incorporating scented candles and incense into our home. The subtle fragrances transport me to a state of calm and serenity.
  • Our dining room's warm, wooden table sets the tone for meaningful meals and quality time. A sleek pantry keeps essentials handy, with my Nespresso machine at the ready. Every morning the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air, tantalising taste buds.
  • We cherish our little centerpiece, a wire mesh bowl, a souvenir that we purchased during our holiday in Australia. It was love at first sight. The mesh design and powder-coated steel bring a refreshing blend of form and function to our dining space.
  • When looking at our floorplan, you'll notice that two bedrooms remain untouched. My partner and I deliberated for a while, weighing the pros and cons of knocking down walls or altering the layout. However, after careful consideration, we decided to preserve the original design, anticipating potential future expansions to our family. For our master bedroom, we opted to rebuild the wardrobe, significantly boosting storage capacity. For now, we're thoroughly content with this layout.
  • Cozying up our bedroom is a storage bed frame that keeps our essentials tucked away. We've paired sheer curtains for gentle, natural light diffusion during the day with blackout curtains for uninterrupted sleep at night. This layered approach ensures flexibility and control over the ambiance.
