  • Hello! I’m Randy and this is my house! It’s an overwhelming yet fulfilling journey for first-time homeowner for me, from sourcing my resale condo, to renovating and moving into my own home. I’m very proud of the outcome and I’ve learnt so much from this whole process.
  • Since it’s a resale, I actually hacked away everything that was left by the previous owner so I’m super excited to show you guys! The theme that I’m going for is more towards Scandinavian-luxe, which is all about simplicity, comfort and functionality. So let’s start with the house tour!
  • This is a resale 1 bedroom condo and it’s slightly above 500 square feet. It’s small but really cosy for me since I’m staying alone and it’s like my bachelor pad. Since it’s a 1 bedder, fully utilising the space is very important so let’s see what I did with the space!
  • The first thing when you come in, you will see this super nice curve design which looks very modern and sleek. The DB box is located inside and now I also use it as a storage space because you know 1 bedroom is not very big so it’s great I can store some of the stuff that like my vacuum inside.
  • This is living area where I spend most of my chilling time here. Over here you can see my couch and a side table where my google home is located. This is a 3 seater sofa I think around 197cm. I think it's just nice for my place. It also comes with an ottoman which makes it an extra seat when my friends or family visit. The Milan 3 Seater Sofa looks super good and on theme with my house!
  • To make the space more comfy, I’ve also specially chosen cushions, a throw and a knitted pouf which I got it all from HipVan!
  • Over to the TV area, previously it has a sliding door. I didn’t really like it so i told my ID that I wanted a extended wall towards to the end so I can also place my TV here. This is my 60 inch TV! Initially I thought 60 inch might be too big but it turns out to be fine. Oh yah, I also spent some money to install a double-arm bracket for my TV so it can be pulled out and tilted left and right. Sometimes when I’m over at the balcony or doing dishes, I can still watch the TV! I think I spent about $150 for the installation. If you also realised, there are no wires dangling around here. My ID helped to conceal it from the back of the TV and over here are all the power points, wires and my modem. I also got some storage space here.

  • One thing which I really enjoyed is the kitchen LED light! I can just turn it on or off, it just lights up the entire kitchen area.
  • Let me show you guys what I have here. I have a open shelve area where I can store some of the essentials that I will usually use. I will definitely add more things here in the future. There’s also quite a few storage spaces here which are very important for smaller houses like mine so do let your ID know you want a lot of storage spaces while you all plan!
  • Ok now to the bedroom! First thing you will see is my queen size bed. My bedframe is also a storage bed so I can store things below! It’s the Nolan Queen Storage Bed - Hailstorm from HipVan!
  • My favourite part of this room is my headboard because it also has the LED light, something similar to the kitchen LED one. What’s really cool about this is home-a-genius did a circadian lighting which changes according to sunrise/sunset. So at different timing, the bedroom will adjust the colour tone according which helps to regulate sleep cycle. This side of the wall is also covered with the textured wallpaper from wallhub!
  • And the right side is my wardrobe area. Can you see where’s my aircon? It’s hidden inside the top panel! The handle used for my wardrobe are super pretty black hexagon handles which I love!
  • I think the bathroom is where I spent most of my thoughts on cause I kept wanting to make it perfect. Having a nice bathroom makes you wanna shower more, and you can also enjoy doing your business in here! For my shower area, I got this super nice fluted glass panels from AEH glass. Same as my main bathroom door which is a frosted glass. I really like my fluted glass panels because other than looking super aesthetic, it also provides privacy and at the same time allowing light to pass through. I think the previous shower screen was just a clear glass so I wanted to switch it up.
  • For the tiles, I used a mixture of 2 different tiles to give a bit of contrast. Cause if I were to just use 1 tile throughout, it might be too heavy. The subway tiles with terrazzo tiles turns out really well.
  • Next is my Balcony area! As you can see, I’ve placed my dining table here. I got this smaller table which is 110cm with 2 chairs and a bench which also has the grey cushions which kinda has the same style as my couch. I got super excited choosing them from the HipVan Catalogue as I get to mix and match to the theme that I want.
  • I’ve also installed decking for my balcony! It looks super good. I think it elevates the look for my balcony as well. I got the ashwood colour and you can see the material used is of high quality.
  • This whole journey has been a blast and it feels like my dream home came true! As much as it being super frustrating sometimes, I’m so glad to have a place to call my own!
