  • When planning the space, our goal was to encapsulate community, food, and connection in the Singaporean context. We envisioned a cozy kitchen dining area and found the perfect 60s Kopitiam table from a lady on Carousell. The bentwood chairs are treasured family heirlooms, adding a touch of warmth and nostalgia.
  • Against the dining, the backdrop is our pantry area / dry kitchen, where coffee and tea are always within reach, along with shelving to display some of our favorite beverages and digital prints that are reminiscent of our local coffee shop & favourite chinese cuisines.
  • One drink that we love to make as a treat is milo nespresso mocha! just pour a lungo-sized portion of coffee into milo powder & whisk well~
  • To the left of our pantry lies our sink area and service yard, where we maintained practicality while trying to meet style. We recently added a translucent roman shade from Ikea to subtly conceal the laundry space, bringing both softness and functionality to the area. For our sink setup, we opted for an undermount sink paired with a sleek pullout faucet—simple yet efficient. Above the sink, we embraced function by leaving our dish drying rack exposed, a choice that’s proven its worth after over a year of daily use. Sometimes, the best design decisions are the ones that serve us well every day.
  • Just beyond our sink is the heart of our wet kitchen extension. Hands down, our dishwasher is the true hero here—we always tell our friends it’s our favorite addition to the home. It’s been a total game changer, especially when entertaining. It saves us hours of washing up and lets us spend more quality time with our guests instead. For our stove, we stuck with what we know and love—a classic gas hob. We grew up cooking on gas, and nothing quite beats the wok hei it delivers compared to induction. We trusted Bosch to make sure our kitchen essentials stand the test of time like the kopitiam table & chairs did
  • Our prep area featuring babies waiting patiently for their dinner to be prepared
  • Not your typical choice, but we’ve added a wooden cat tree that blends perfectly with our carpentry. It’s our feline friends’ favorite spot to snooze and play while we cook or enjoy meals at our kopitiam dining table. Others might have cat cafes, but we’ve got ourselves a cozy little cat kopitiam right at home! 🐾 This house is all about seamlessly integrating our cats into our lives—even if it means the cat tree found its home in the only space that fit. It’s safe to say, they’ve claimed it as their own!
  • Sitting from our kitchen dining, you'll spot a vintage Kedai kopi sign that we thrifted—adding a nostalgic touch to our home. It reminds us of Singapore’s history & rich multicultural heritage
