  • Welcome to our master bedroom! We kept things pretty simple here as it’s mainly a place for us to rest at night. This is what you see when you first walk in.
  • Due to how HDB already allocated a space for wardrobe, we just follow suit and there’s an existing beam there so it’s an odd shaped space for anything else. As this wardrobe is mainly for Nigel (Ven has her own wardrobe room 🤭), the storage space was just nice. We chose a wood laminate with neater wood grains to keep true to the Japandi theme.
  • The main area houses our queen size bed which is perfect for the two of us. We have been sleeping without a headboard due to smaller space in our previous place and got used to it. For our home, we opted for a painted arch on the wall to mimic as headboard and kept the walkway spacious. Side boards from Taobao are compact but sufficient for simple storage and kept our bedroom clean and simple.
  • As we prefer dimmer lights at night, this hanging pendent is our main light source just before we turn it for the night. The light switch is hidden by the curtain but it’s kept by the bedside for easy access and not having to leave the bed to turn it off.
  • We also did false ceiling here and flushed our curtain tracks to the ceiling to give an illusion of higher ceilings. For our curtains, we opted for day curtains to add privacy for the day and blackout curtains for minimal light flowing in when we wake up.
  • As the bathroom door is facing the bedside, we kept a good distance from the bed so there’s lesser disruption. Our surety clothes laundry basket is also here so we can easily throw our clothes in before showering at night. There’s also a clothes ladder to hand towels or clothes that can be reworn.
