  • Hello, we're @alilbto! :) Today, we'll be sharing about our kitchen and what we love the most about this space! Our kitchen is probably one of the most utilised spaces in our home - we cook dinners almost every night after work, and all 3 meals that we have over the weekends
  • On one side of our kitchen, we have our fridge, built-in oven and lots of countertop space. We have some commonly-used kitchen appliances laid out on our countertop such as our rice cooker and air fryer. We try our best to keep the rest of the countertop clutter-free so we have the remaining space available for cooking prep. As we're heavy cookers, we opted for sintered stone counter top for its heat- and stain-resistent properties. So far, we have had no issues of staining despite spilling curries, wine and other dark coloured foods on it!
  • & here are some features of our kitchens that we would do all over again in a heartbeat: 1) Installing handles - it may not look as clean as drawers with finger grooves, but having handles have made opening drawers & cabinets so much easier. This is something we would recommend if you're someone who cooks very frequently! 2) Installing power tracks - with power tracks installed along the length of our countertop, we're not limited by the number of power outlets and the location of the power outlets. i.e. we can place our appliances anywhere along the countertop and not have to worry whether there's an available power outlet nearby 3) Rounded edges - this rounded edge has prevented so many bruises from the accidental bumps we have had against our carpentry 4) No upper cabinets - to minimise potential clutter and because it would be difficult to grab items stored so high up without bringing out the ladder
  • On the other side of our kitchen, we have most of our appliances, from washer/dryer stack to our kitchen sink, dishwasher, and hob & hood We decided to box up our water pipes and the space above our washer/dryer to reclaim some storage space within our kitchen/service yard
  • We also have a single layer upper shelving installed here so we have additional storage space! So far, we've mainly used this shelf to display some of our whiskeys and coffee-making tools! :) We also installed a corner fan to keep cool on the kitchen!
