  • Hey guys! Today, we’ll be welcoming you into our cosy, moody, living room. This space has definitely got to be the space that we use the most - be it chill Sunday mornings, or WFH sitches! Our living room is in fact, also within our kitchen area, as it’s an integrated space with an island top separating the two areas. This also meant that the actual living space would be halved, so we had to decide on a couple of key furnitures (sofa, lounge chairs, low table)! Without any built-ins, this provided us with the ease of changing the position of our furniture any time!
  • Fun fact: we’ve actually converted this space to a karaoke room/movie room, projecting against our island wall (we love that we’re able to move things around entirely!)
  • Our sofa overlooks the window where we’re able to bask in the glow of some vitamin D, while soaking in a beautiful view of the large old tree right opposite our apartment! Spot our gumball machine filled with coloured bouncy balls from our childhood!
  • A little zoom into a couple of our coffee table residents. We visited the Red Dot Design Museum and got this cute lil Manekineko 3-piece puzzle! This original bankers’ lamp was from an antique haul, the boar base is made of brass and the glass lampshade has an opal white interior and dark green exterior. The Little Island Enterprise made the miniature hand-painted model of a row of conservation shophouses along Jalan Besar (which is close to home as we stay in Lavender)!
  • These prints of the Chinese characters ‘Ling’ and ‘Wu’ was something we designed together, thinking to ourselves: “our walls are a lil too bare, it’d be nice to have something up!”. A literal translation to English would be Zero House, and so, it became the entire meaning of our home; A home that encourages everyone to reset themselves back to a zero and to slow down and reminisce.
  • Our tiny ledge of decor items (special highlight on our cute mini Sembcorp bin). We were thinking of creating a pull-down wood top for this windowsill area to enjoy our morning coffee, but another idea for another time! We love that we’re still able to DIY bits and pieces into the nook and crannies of our home.
  • Peeking through the grilles, is our geometric wall lamp which we found from a antique hunt in Seremban. We got dimmer switches installed with the 4-bulb system, and it was a game changer for us in terms of mood lighting.
  • That leaves us till next week’s entryway tour, where we’ll be sharing more of our toys. Sayonara from awkward kitty and us, we hope you’ve enjoyed our living room tour!
