  • Our dining area was one of the biggest challenge we faced when we were doing space planning for our home.

  • Our biggest worry was finding a table that fits because we only had 2.6m by 3m space to work with (including filtering space for walking). Our initial plan of having a round table went to dust because the biggest table we can fit is a 1m table and that can only sit 4 pax! We wanted to:
- Sit at 6-8pax comfortably
- Round or oval shape table because 👎🏻 to sharp edges
 - Light wooden table to go with the coastal flow At this rate thought we had to spend >$2k on a customised oval piece.
Thankfully we found someone letting go a brand new customised 1.55m table which was made of light white-washed wood (it was too small for her space). Even better, she let it go cheap at $300!!! It’s like God was blessing us with the table!! To save cost even more, we opted to get 2 customised chairs from Wihardja Furniture and got another 2 from Taobao, since most of the time it’s just 2 of us. The last chair was from our old place. In the end, our dining furniture only amounted to $800! 🫢🫢
  • Furniture aside, we also chose to mount a mirror on our bombshelter door to make it less of an eyesore and to also open up the space! Still missing some picture frames which we intend to mount at the side of the door (hence the wall light), and will maybe add a plant at the corner under the air con in future 🌿 Step by step ya, otherwise things get very overwhelming!

Overall very pleased with how the area turned out! And how much we saved! 🤩🤩
