  • Welcome back to our home! Next up is our Master Bedroom in a typical BTO configuration layout! At one glance you can probably tell G and I planned our bedroom with the idea to maximise walking space so it appears & feels larger than it seems. I mean.. look at that amount of space in front of wardrobe and the walking space to the other side of the bed?!
  • From the beginning we both agreed we did not want the bedroom to feel claustrophobic, so we immediately agreed on a L-shape configuration to maximise walking space and also retain the flexibility of potentially having to work / place stuff in the bedroom. H also opted out on having a dedicated vanity area as she felt there's no need for it since the toilet is just a few steps away, and really what she needed was just a space for her hairdryer and skincare items (inside the 2 drawers)
  • We further maximised our wardrobe storage by re-routing toilet switches to our wardrobe itself so we could extend the wardrobe right next to toilet door. The original switch location from HDB was at least 15-20cm to the right of the door. Though some may still find our wardrobe storage is rather limited but the first step to minimalism is really to limit ourselves from having that space hahahah
  • One of the best investments we've made for the space would be this 2-way switch for the main bedroom light! Which means that you're able to switch on/off the light at the bedroom door, and switch off/on even while in bed. This became our MUST HAVE after hearing our friends "fight" over who should switch off the lights before heading to bed and we clearly knew it will be something we'll scissors-paper-stone for in time to come!
  • This is the other side of the bed and we had purposely cater for 50cm space for a loose bedside table to hold our Satellite, loose items (e.g. specs) and for our robot vacuum to be able to enter and clean! Tip: For those who are planning to get a robot vacuum, make sure you factor this in so you've lesser unreachable spots for the robot vac!
  • We eventually decided on Venetian blinds because the position of our windows are more towards the right than left, and it wouldn't justify having 2-way curtains and 1-way curtain looks rather non-symmetrical & ugly when drawn to one side. But absolutely no regrets because look at this colour scheme that we chose! The beige wood like texture and light brown tape truly accentuates our Coastal coloured bedroom!
