  • Hello it’s @chanceuponchanshome again! Has been a while and we are back to share about our vanity area. Even though we know it is most ladies’ dream to own a sit-down vanity area but I’m quite cincai (easygoing) and I was fine with just having my Bluetooth LED-mirror in the toilet! We wanted the wardrobe to be efficient and able to store as many outfits as possible since it’s a shared wardrobe. Thus we opted to have as many hanger poles as we can possible. Then, our ID provided an elevation with a simple mirror cabinet and we also liked what we saw at his showroom so we went ahead with the idea of a mirror cabinet. He also mentioned the possibility of storing makeup and hairdryer in this small space and we were sold with the idea. 😍
  • The Mrs’s. The mirror cabinet turned out really pretty and functional! I purposely requested for hanger pole below the mirror cabinet because it felt cool to just pick your outfits halfway through making up. (Though now I use it for my long bottoms 😂)
  • We chose to install a 40-cm track socket instead of normal sockets to enhance flexibility in this tight area, as we can use USB, type-C wires and 3-pin plugs without needing special sockets! It also adds a touch of novelty compared to normal sockets.
  • A peek behind the mirror! 🙈 it’s mainly Mrs’s stuff. Bottom level to store daily skin care and make up, second level for perfumes, and top level for some sheet masks, pimple patches and contact lens etc. Okay I’m still trying to “ikebana” my perfumes so they look like they’re in a perfume store shelf hehe.
  • On the other side of our L-shaped wardrobe is the Mr’s side! (To date we are still territorial and don’t mix our things. We only share the mirror and hairdryer) We planned our own vanity and Mr. said he wants 2 shelves and a top hanger pole.
  • This is how it looks like with a pull-out accessories drawer that I specially requested for him. The shelf directly above it is made of glass and see-through for a very “Kingsman movie closet/vanity”. Our ID initiated to customise the drawer with carpentry but we felt it could have limited possibilities and hence will DIY a velvet one in the future instead!
  • A mirror behind the wardrobe door makes perfect sense for the Mr. as he dresses up around this area and does fit checks too. This side mainly houses the jackets and branded tops 🙊 it’s nice to get my OOTD here too hahahahaah
  • No exposed mirrors and a concealed vanity area within our wardrobe makes an excellent choice for small houses. It is said that exposed mirrors near the bed is bad fengshui so we erred on the safe side for this. A concealed vanity is definitely great for minimalism. No exposed mess so it looks clean and sleek! We hope you enjoyed our short post on our simple vanity. :)
