  • Welcome! First things first, our entryway! Simple, clutter/carpentry-free. By opting out of the traditional built-in shoe cabinet, we saved money and it allows us to express ourselves more freely and gives us flexibility in choosing and changing our shoe cabinet whenever we want. The bomb shelter is also neatly hidden away with the use of a partition door instead of expensive carpentry, creating space for the two mini arch galleries where we can display decorative pieces or even our mini collection!
  • We love this value purchase of a shoe cabinet that’s not too much of a hassle for the Bob-the-builder of the house to assemble. The rattan-aesthetics add to the vibe of the whole house and the open-top allows us to simply dump our pouches and items before heading out or when we’ve just arrived home. Another item that 🧑🏻 found and eventually grew on 👩🏻 is the key-holder. Made of wood and designed to look like an amplifier, you simply plug the keys in as if they were audio jacks. ❣️
  • As you can already tell, 🧑🏻is a baseball fan and 👩🏻 is a huge Disney fan...or is it the other way round? Nevertheless, these handy arches allow us the freedom to decorate these spaces however way we want it and for now, it shall be home to our mini collection that is sure to grow.
  • Our dining space and our Instagram backdrop of the house. As you can already tell, arches are a common feature of the house and how could we say no to this? The arch was constructed by using partition to raise the level of the wall outwards, creating a cut-out effect. The design within the arch was painstakingly painted by our mural artists from @thegraffroom, do check them out on Instagram! We love how the piece isn't overly-vibrant and the mellow colours really give a sense of peace to the whole house. Not forgetting our 1.8m solid-wood dining table that came with the set of matching chairs. Notice the Christmas-tree thingy on the table? Make a guess what it is!
  • Welcome to our cosy living room! This is where we spend most of our laid-back weekends binge-watching Netflix on our 65-inch Samsung TV or playing party games with friends on our Switch! We love how our chaise sofa kind of sections out the living room yet it is still an open space that connects to the rest of the house. We opted for only day curtains because we don't ever see a need for us to blackout the living room and because we also have a zip-track at the balcony outside that can do the trick.
  • Another view of our living room from a different angle. Situated behind the living space is our study room that has an...arch opening (no surprises here) with a piece of glass installed. This design really gives the study room a WeWork kind of environment where there's an abundance of natural light and allows the user inside to still connect with people outside while not being overly distracted from their work. P.S spot the 2 loves in 👩🏻's life - Disney and Bread. 🧑🏻 is sad because he's 3rd.
  • Coming to our open-concept kitchen, this is probably our other favourite space in the house besides our bed (who doesn't love their bed, right?). This open-concept kitchen is only possible because between the two of us, we hardly engage in any heavy cooking like frying or grilling. Most of our meals are usually baked in the oven or prepared using our handy dandy Thermie (Thermomix) you see in the background!
  • As some would say, the crème de la crème, pièce de résistance. The centre piece of our kitchen, is none other than our 2.4m kitchen island. This is where we prep most of our meals, do our baking, and host our guests over a drink or two. This island also serves neatly as our serving counter whenever we have buffets or catering. Guests can grab the food from here and head over to the dining table or simply hang around the island and help themselves to buffet-style dining.
  • This empty wall was really a blessing because it allowed us to fulfill our dream of having a pinterest-inspired pegboard in the kitchen. Still ever a work-in-progress, this pegboard comes with sets of poles and platforms that we can freely arrange to suit our needs. Let us know how you think we should design this space!
  • Moving on to the opposite side of the kitchen, we have our fridge and a neatly tucked away coffee corner. Or is it an alcohol corner?
  • The study room was initially part of the living room but we decided to make use of the "suggested study" idea on the floorplan and erected this. The doorway to the study room is made up of 4 panels of semi-fluted, semi-arch glass with mild-steel frame. The middle 2 panels are casement-style doors which, when closed, creates a really conducive enclosed space that blocks out most of the sound from the outside. The sound isolation also comes in handy when 🧑🏻 is fervently engaged in his gaming and shouting for his teammates to "ulti ulti!"
  • This recent addition to the study room expands on our storage space and fits into the general theme of the house with its walnut-stained wood material. These cabinets come in 3 different configurations, 2 of which are featured here and 1 which consists of 2 fluted casement doors. The height is also a perfect 80cm tall which means we can simply swing our chairs around to have access to a secondary tabletop.
  • The gym room! Converted from our 3rd bedroom, this has been 🧑🏻's dream. Having a home gym really means huge-savings on gym membership and lots of time saved from not needing to travel to and from the gym. However, 🧑🏻 does have to accept the fact that the space is limited and has to find ways around it. Do hit us up if you'd like us to share more about our home gym setup as well as the considerations, benefits and regrets behind it!
  • If you remember the hand-painted piece at our dining area, you would notice the similarity to this feature wall in our common toilet. In fact, the piece at the dining area drew inspiration from these foliage tiles from Hafary. We wanted our common toilet to have something eye-catching for our guests and what better than this! Many have asked why we opted to not have a fully-enclosed shower screen here and our reason is because showering is a rare occurence here (hence the lack of even soap and shampoo on the ledge) and we wanted the easy access to the faucet to draw water for mopping and general cleaning!
  • Entering the magical place - the master bedroom. The fluted glass and arches continue. We were lucky enough to have a nice rectangular shape for our MBR that was also wide enough to accommodate a King-sized bed as well as our wardrobe all in the room without having to knock down any walls for it.
  • An uncommon design in our MBR is the presence of this fluted door which can be closed to separate the wardrobe area from the sleeping area. Although not being able to fully block out light, the fluted panels do their job in dimming out the lights since 🧑🏻 is a shift-worker and at times, there could be one still in bed while the other has to be up to prepare for work.
  • Even with a king-sized bed, we still managed to sneak in this cute little bedside table complete with rattan details that we really love. The hanging pendant light at the bedside also sets the mood really well at night.
  • This is the only space of the master bedroom which we had to create by hacking into the adjacent room. It is a small corner and hence does not make the adjacent room much smaller and is almost unnoticable to guests if we do not point it out. This small space is just nice for 👩🏻 to do her makeup!
  • This fluted door, a must-have request by 👩🏻, is the doorway to our master bathroom. Such a beauty innit?
  • Inside, a 1.6m full length mirror covers one side of the master bathroom and really makes the bathroom feel much bigger even though it kind of already is. In here, we opted for a full shower screen plus door because we really enjoy showering without having to worry about water spraying out of the shower area.
  • The opposite side of our master bathroom is adorned by these vertical, popsicle tiles that we chose from Hafary as well. As compared to the foliage tiles, we opted to have this installed here for its perpetual beauty.
  • To end it off, this is how our original floor plan looks like. We really hope you've enjoyed this home tour with us and feel free to let us know if you've any questions! Till the next time when we'll share more of our design concepts in detail!
