  • Hello everyone! We are @hausofsoh, a DINK couple hailing the east of Singapore 🌿 welcome to the visual housewarming of our humble abode!✨ We purchased our home in 2018 and only shifted in at the end of last year. At the very beginning, we were both inclined to having an Industrial theme home - think cement screed flooring, white walls, dark coloured furniture, with a touch of greenery of plants. However, we soon realised that coming back home to a mono space isn’t really that ideal, especially since we both hold face paced jobs! Our likings then took a 180 degree turn to what our home is right now - soft, neutral toned, and cosy.
  • Here’s the original layout of our 4R flat! From the head start, we knew we were gonna hack BR3 to make more space for our living room as we both love having friends over! We also have too much clothes for our own good, and wanted to see how we could play with the space of BR2, since we have no plans for kids for the near future.
  • And here’s what our ID came up with after us sharing our ideals! We are now a mega 2 room flat (hahaha) Continue scrolling to see more!
  • To start, here’s our entryway! Check out the rounded edges on the ceiling! We also chose to conceal our bomb shelter and DB Box as we preferred to have everything looking uniform. We also created a short settee by the side for more shoe storage as well as ease of shoe wearing before heading out.
  • With the removal of the walls of BR2, we have a larger living-cum-dining area! Also, highlight’s on the limewash walls that we DIYed ourselves! It was so tiring to complete, but so gratifying to see the end product. This really is our fruit of labour 🥲
  • Here’s one of the statement pieces of our home - an electric fireplace snugged in the tv console done by our ID’s carpenters! 🔥
  • Our love for rounded edges is self explanatory in the items seen in this photo 😛
  • Our very cosy dining area where we host friends regularly. Fun fact - our dining table is done by our friend who is a carpenter! It was based off a design shown to him with small added details of our own!
  • A close up of our dining table lights. We wanted something different from what is usually seen in most homes, yet still matching the other furnitures chosen. So glad we didn’t give up scrolling on Taobao back then to chance upon this!
  • Also featuring our open concept kitchen! The mister is a chef and loves engaging in conversations while cooking. There was no room for negotiation on this ☝🏻
  • Checkout the view while we cook!
  • Shelves made to house our frequently used kitchen appliances.
  • We also hacked away the service yard partitions to have a longer kitchen area. Expanded space = more storage!
  • Where morning coffees are made ☕️
  • Always sunny whenever in the common toilet because…
  • We have a skylight in the toilet!! ☀️ the colour of the light can also be adjusted to mimic that of a golden hour (catch that little tinge of orange above the mirror!) We’ve also chosen to go with 60x60 tiles to have a standardised look throughout the house. These tiles are textured and they provide a little more character to our home :)
  • Now we reach the next (only lol) room in the house — our bedroom! Fun fact: we had the main bedroom door painted with limewash to have a semi-seamless look! Referencing our post reno floorplan, you might’ve noticed that there is a small empty area behind the wardrobe. This was done intentionally! As we have no plans for kids now, the room is currently being used as a makeshift guest room/ working room. Realistically speaking, a child doesn’t leave the parents’ side for the first few years of their life so should we do have a child, the room could be transformed to fit a baby cot too!
  • Here’s a little peek into it!
  • We kept the layout and reno in our bedroom simple as it’s where we want to unwind and have a restful night’s sleep. The bed frame was a self assemble project and it’s so nice to see it all come together! We also left this room without limewash walls as it seems redundant, but who knows? It could be our next project 😛
  • Another angle of our MBR. No reeded glass door for this but still keeping privacy in check with a frosted glass door! This was also the area where a dresser table was supposed to be placed, but we ended up loving the room the empty area gave us to more about that we forgo the idea of having one.
  • The MBR toilet is basically a duplicate of the common toilet, minus the skylight. We also installed the shower screen for this toilet as the wet area was right beside the toilet bowl.
  • Here’s the end of our visual home tour! We hope we’ve given some inspiration to you guys, and we look forward to sharing more with the community in the weeks to come! Do follow us on IG @hausofsoh if you want to see more of our home!
