  • Housewarming: Welcome to the #bbhome - named this after our 4room resale at Bedok Central. Our main colour themes being 🩶🤍🖤 and bb standing for "Bedok Brutalist". Truth be told, when we were hunting around for IDs to help our reno journey, many threw us keywords "industrial, minimalist, wabisabi, farmhouse, mid century etc" for certain elements we wanted to incorporate. In short we loved • raw textures • stoney finishes • grey (all shades are beautiful!) • not too much "metal or black" And ultimately.. only one ID pointed us to the the "Brutalist". And we selected him!
  • Our original floor plan had an awkward bombshelter occupying 1/3 of the kitchen (we wanted open concept but had to go without because of this..) There were also 2 toilets right smack in the centre, which made it harder to configure around, even if we wanted to make the living room larger and more spacious. Advices to those who are just starting to look for their own place - Find out what are some non-negotiables (e.g highfloor? Corner unit? Unblocked view? Near mrt? Sunny interior for plants?) - Also consider things that you want BUILT IN for your new space (kitchen bar/ counter? Open concept? Barn door? Special bed frame? Specific fengshui elements? Sofa in living room to accomodate how many? Dining table to accomodate how many?) - Then consider the floor plan and see if it is physically feasible to accomodate your wants before settling for the place!
  • *Magic* made by our dear ID- this was our 90% finalised floor plan which was formulated to meet a few requirements 1. Our 3.5 seater sofa 2. At least a 180metre long dining table 3. Washing machine, dryer etc all to be kept in kitchen 4. Larger service yard space for recreation 5. Walk in wardrobe 6. Game/ work desk 7. Montessori bed 8. Piano room
