  • When we got a maisonette, we knew that we would have the upgrade in space, but we were also surprised at the bathroom sizes because they were not as big as what we intended. Missus’s dream to own a bathtub was dashed but we acknowledge how it is probably for the better. It is our first time hacking an entire bath and really getting to choose our own tiles so you can say we pretty much went all out. Pinterest was our friend as we worked with different colour schemes. For our master toilet we chose three different tiles. We raised a wall to separate our shower and vanity, and due to previous experiences, did away with the cursed glass panes that always attracts scum stains. We have never looked back since.
  • We choose a light mint to exude a feature wall feel and chose this lamp to light up just the vanity space. We wanted to go for a bowl sink to give a little bit of height and elegance. When searching for a countertop for our kitche, we chanced upon this Taj Mahal slab and also fell in love with it. Being at a premium price, it was costly to have it for our large kitchen space so we were happy to gift it to our cozy bathroom vanity.
  • We were also excited to find a brass mirror of the right size that fits into the space to give an illusion of ample space. What’s missing is probably a faux hook 😂 so now our mirror does look like it’s being plastered onto the wall. Note how it complements the light fixture from IKEA too! We love it when spaces make us feel happy to be in it.
  • Another thing that made us happy is that when we look down, we’ll see brass birds adorning the vanity drawers. This storage space houses all our refills for the bathroom needs but don’t these look quaint! Especially from this view with our herringbone tile lay.
  • Exiting the bathroom, is a space that faces our walk in closet. We chose the same pvc half louvre doors for all our bathrooms. We also found a WC that is just the right height for mister during throne sitting, but also the right size to fit in a bathroom that may not have so much space. With a lower backing, don’t you think the toilet looks super spacious at this angle? Psst. Do you know you can opt for a complete closed up louvre panel so unwanted odours and sounds will be kept confined in the space they are meant to stay in? 😅
  • The most spacious bathroom layout in the usually hdb maisonette will be the shared bathroom upstairs. Terracotta tiles was something we wanted to really have so this place had the honours. We had a rattan lamp to also light up the space at the bathroom’s entrance. To be honest, we have no idea if this whole look is still a modern farmhouse but we like how it looks.
  • The girls have the same tiles we used in our master bathroom walls for their floors. It is quite textured so we have no issues with slippery surfaces for the 1 and 6 year old to handle. We had a bit of a headache with the bathroom racks so our ID helped us with the installation of quartz shelf be,ow our mirror and at the shower area.
  • Mister’s skills at ikea furniture building came to good use as we settled for a wash basin from them. He assembled it and our plumber did the rest. This is also the same 🚽 that we use for all three bathrooms.
  • Finally moving to the level 1 powder room, we wanted to play with a half tiled look! Separating a grey painted wall and the subway tiles is a wooden moulding painted white. Oh looks is! It’s the same ikea washbin only a fun sized one 🥹🥹🥹
  • We had this wall light bought from Taobao and this mirror from Shopee. It took a while to find one appropriate sized for the fun sized wash basin 😅😅
  • In our tiny space, we carved an area that is a drop in to be able to do simple washing. This was evaluation our needs and it has been a heavily used space that served its function well! Can you also spot the retro looking patterned tiles on the floor? A petite sized bathroom also meant that we can exercise more budget to choose such beautiful things for the space 😁 so no complaints there!
  • We are very glad at how we spent one day for tiles and laminate selection and it all turned out well! It feels like creating your house palette and watching the canvas come to life! Finding inspiration and creating moodboards can save a lot of time and give you focus when it comes to shopping! Hafary amazed us with its selections and displays, but for a journey that can bring about much frustration, it is understandable why the facilities are so comfortable. We wish all going for tiles shopping to have a good time too!
