  • Welcome to our bedroom, where we're crafting a perfect mood for relaxation (still working towards this goal!). We've designed the space with soft and moody elements to evoke a sense of calmness and coziness, perfect for winding down after a long day. We opted for ceiling-mounted day and night curtains instead of a traditional curtain pelmet. This design choice visually enlarges the space and contributes to a more open and airy feel.
  • As you enter, you'll be greeted by a full-length mirror in the corner, one of our favourite purchases from Taobao. We love how it reflects light and texture from the windows and walls, adding depth and brightness to the room. We painted the walls and ceiling with limewash paint (DIY!!) which imparts a soft, earthy vibe and envelopes the space in warmth. The limewash paint also matches the rest of the house, ensuring a cohesive look throughout.
  • The bedroom is filled with loose furniture which provides us with the freedom to easily alter the layout and design according to our changing tastes and needs. This flexibility allows us to refresh the space and adapt it to new styles or functionality whenever we choose.
  • We've chosen warm lighting to make the room cozier and often use scented candles for an added touch of warmth and relaxation.
  • One feature we love about our bed frame is the ledge on the headboard. It's good for placing items before we go to bed and we also put our scented candles here too!
  • Previously, the wall between the Main Bedroom and Bedroom 2 was removed to create a combined resting area and walk-in wardrobe. However, we realized that separate spaces for sleeping and changing were more practical. So, we added a curved wall to make the layout more functional and better suited to our needs.
  • Blackout curtains are essential for improving our sleep quality by ensuring a dark and restful environment.
  • We rarely use the curtain hooks for tying back curtains, so we repurposed them to hold our extra-long phone charging cables. The cables are conveniently hidden from sight by the curtains. Aesthetics and functionality achieved yay!
  • We use cotton or Tencel bedsheets, which are cooler and help us stay comfortable in Singapore's hot weather. Our bedroom is still a work-in-progress and we're thinking of changing things up a little! Thank you for reading our post and stay tuned for more:)
