  • Welcome to Our Kohsy Vanity Corner! When it comes to renovation costs, carpentry is often one of the most expensive aspects. To make the most of our budget, we saved some money by opting for a loose-piece vanity set, which can be easily found on Taobao, allowing us to balance functionality and cost without compromising on style. This vanity set cost us $350 exclusive of shipping. It arrived almost fully assembled and all we had to do was to screw the hinges on to put everything together.
  • You will be shocked to know that for $350, it also includes this comfy and very aesthetically pleasing chair as well as the mirror!
  • Mirror with lights for good lighting any time of the day - a very important feature when it comes to the vanity area
  • Even though our vanity set was from Taobao, we could still customize it to suit our needs (or rather, the Mrs.'s needs!). We added fully tailored jewellery and cosmetic organizers, measured precisely to fit the drawers, making it both practical and personal. The suede jewellery organiser cost $35 while the acrylic cosmetic organiser cost $30.
  • A little nook for the hair dryer, with power point allocated at the perfect height. Reno tip! Even though this was a loose-piece vanity set, we sourced it beforehand and shared the measurements with our ID, letting her know where specific things like our hair dryer would go so powerpoints can be allocated for at the correct location. This allowed our vanity corner to blend seamlessly with the rest of the bedroom.
  • If you've read some of our other posts, it would be familiar to you by now that we're huge fan of practical storage areas 😂 that is because the key to a clutter-free home is to have sufficient storage space! With 6 wide and spacious drawers on the side, there is more than enough space to house things like hair accessories, face masks etc.
  • These little acrylic containers come in various sizes and are great for organising things in the drawers. Very affordably priced at $1-2 each, we bought a bunch of these to also use around the house.
  • Decided to keep skincare easily accessible as they are used daily. So instead of stowing them away in the drawers, we got this sturdy 3-tier acrylic stand for only $5 on Taobao to ensure the tabletop remains tidy.
  • And that's a wrap for our vanity corner! We hope this post inspires you to create your own DIY vanity space, proving that a thoughtfully designed loose-piece vanity can look just as aesthetic as custom carpentry, but at a fraction of the cost.
