  • Welcome to our Dining Area - previously a bedroom now turned into a combined space for our dining and chill area. We are at the stage in life where cleaning accidental spills, grains of rice and cookie crumbs are part of our daily routine. To make our (my) lives easier, we went for an easy to maintain and sturdy 1.5m walnut veneer, ceramic and metal base dining table from Homestolife. This size is perfect for small families like ours, and the rounded edges are every parents' best friend for added safety. Many of our design choices revolve around building a conducive and safe space and how we can up keep our home with the least amount of effort. At the end of the day, we want to spend less time cleaning and more quality time with our loved ones.
  • Safe to say that after using our dining table for 1 year, no visible water marks, stains, or scratches have yet to be seen. We will wipe the table with a damp cloth after meals and Fushi spray and wipe after hosting. That's it. :)
  • We prefer hosting in smaller groups with just a few friends/family members over each time for a more intimate gathering.
  • We have comfortably hosted up to 8 adults on this small but mighty dining table. We'll bring out these stackable stools from Hipvan during gatherings and they never fail to be a conversation starter. The pedestal table base made it easier to squeeze in extra chairs around the table.
  • We have also conveniently used these stools as our "ladder" to reach for things in our upper cabinets and also to clean our fans. What a chio and solid piece!
  • Another reason why we chose to have a smaller dining so it does not obstruct the pathway. Taking up less space allows for easier movement around the table too. Our dining chairs are also from Homestolife. They were on 40 to 50% bundle sale. It has comfortable padded seats with supportive backrest. No problem sitting here for hours to catch up over meals. Our pendant lights serves as a focal point and sets the mood of our dining area. We needed something that is easy on the eyes as my daughter tend to stare at the lights when she was younger. We like to keep our windows open during the day as our home can get quite breezy on certain months. We were on a hunt for a pendant light that is weighty so it does not sway too much when the wind blows. So happy we found this affordable option from horizon lights.
  • Styling is kept minimal so it's easy to move around when there's more food on the table.
  • Half of the wall is covered in ripped fluted panels to create some texture and to elevate the dining area. They are the same ones we used at our TV feature wall for a more cohesive look. We use the plain side of the wall to hang our birthday party, Christmas decorations etc. We also installed dimmer switches from Sol Luminaire, allowing us to adjust the light intensity according to the occasion – whether it’s a bright kids party or a cosy night. That's all for our dining tour. Thank you for scrolling through! 💛
