  • Welcome to the Master Bedroom of themaomaohome. This is a minimalist bedroom, with no frills (yet) for us to chill and rest. We definitely recommend investing in a good bed for good sleep and rest. We love our very comfy bed from a local company called Bluvale. The bed is medium firm, and we like that it does not cause motion disturbance. Unfortunately, it seemed to be sold out now. We had previously tried many brands including the high end ones and found this mattress comparable with them, at a fraction of the cost. Besides getting a good bed, blackout curtains is also a must-have, if you are a light sleeper.
  • There was quite a bit of headache when we were planning the layout of this room, as we needed more storage space. A built-in wardrobe is useful as it is customisable, easy to maintain and prevents accumulation of dust. In order to combine our needs for spaciousness and storage space, we skipped the idea of the L-shaped wardrobe and added one more door to the wardrobe instead. The bed was pushed to the corner as a result of this decision, and made the room feel a lot more spacious. The ledge was built underneath the window, to serve as a bedside 'table'.
  • A double plug was added at the corner, so that we can charge our phone, and add a bedside lamp as seen in the next photo.
  • Added a night light which was a beautiful housewarming gift from my two close friends.
  • We also added quite a few electrical points opposite the bed, mainly for our ironing board, air purifier and hair dryer. They have been very useful. Would recommend to cater for more electrical points!
  • LED strip lights were also added in the whole wardrobe. They have been very helpful for us to find stuff easily in the morning and night. AA track was added too to adjust the height of the shelves. Would highly recommend! We also built a hidden niche next to the bed, to serve as a bedside table. The LED strip light could also serve as night light. Switches and a double plug were installed and kept hidden too. However, we would prefer to switch their placement, as it is more intuitive to have the switches next to us instead.
  • A wall-mounted vanity cabinet and table was added for my (Choo) usage. I like that it is very space saving, but the quality of the hinges were not good. One of them actually broke prior to mounting it T.T We had to get a good drop hinge, recommended by a local Blum retailer store called Kiang Sing Hong (good customer service), and it has worked well for us so far. This space is still a WIP, and will slowly style it in time to come.
  • This is one of our favourite views of the master bedroom, when we looked down the hallway from the living room. This was taken on a sunny morning. Wishing you a good night rest. Thank you for reading! Cheers, Dom and Choo
