  • Our service yard was one of the trickiest spaces to design due to its compact size. From laundry to storage, we needed this area to work hard without compromising on style. Here’s how we transformed this small area into an efficient and well-organised space that feels just as cohesive as the rest of our home — we managed to fit a utility sink on one side and a washer on the other, while still incorporating built-in storage on both sides of the laundry area. The countertop flows seamlessly from the kitchen, providing ample space for laundry tasks.
  • Anyone dreads laundry day? Here's a simple tip which works for us — choose aesthetic essentials to make the chore feel more enjoyable! Our HAY laundry basket and super-soft Soft Spot cloths add a personal touch that makes the space feel inviting and less like a task.
  • We opted for the Whirlpool washing machine for its Supreme Oxycare functions — Steam and Oxycare. The Steam function removes bacteria and allergens, while refreshing and de-wrinkling clothes. Meanwhile, the Oxycare feature uses oxygen gas molecules to sanitise and sterilise delicate items. Perfect for leather bags and fabrics that can't be washed with water.
  • Our Steigen automatic laundry rack is a game-changer! With both cold and hot air functions, it speeds up drying time and uses less energy than a dryer. It also has an anti-dust mite feature that keeps our clothes fresh and allergen-free. For anyone working with a small service yard, this is a must-have to maximise drying space.
  • We also pay attention to the smaller details, like selecting sleek and efficient laundry tools. These ultra-slim hangers from Ikea allow us to store more clothes without taking up too much space. We also purchased this rack from Shopee specifically for the hangers. The Aykasa crate keeps our clothes pegs neatly stored and easily accessible. Whether it’s smart storage or innovative appliances, every decision in this space has made our service yard a highly functional part of our daily routine. And I’m happy to say — laundry time is no longer something we dread!
