  • Step into our small but mighty kitchen with a coffee corner, breakfast bar and wet kitchen
  • A solitary column in the kitchen's center presented a design dilemma. After careful consideration, we weighed two options: - Integrating the column into a kitchen island, embracing an open-concept design - Constructing walls to create a cozy, enclosed kitchen
  • After lots of brainstorming, sketching, and 3D modeling, we decided on an enclosed kitchen. It was a game-changer for two big reasons: - We can now keep the living room cool without the kitchen heat messing with the AC. - The clutter stays hidden, keeping our living space feeling tidy and relaxed
  • Before: We decided to keep the original HDB flooring and tiles, and then concealed the not-so-pretty bits – wall tiles, access panel, and pipes – without any hacking
  • After: The coffee corner and wet kitchen are separated by the HDB vinyl and tile intersection.
  • 3D rendering we did as part of the design process. This cabinet in the middle, is where we hide all loose small appliances Can you spot the difference between 3d & reality?
  • Reality: Appliance cabinet with pocket doors to slide & hide when appliances are being used
  • Drawers galore - we added extra drawers to store frequently used plates, tupperware. Not seen is the other drawer set for coffee machine accessories, cups and teapots
  • Before: Last but not least, this view of our laundry yard
  • After: To separate the laundry yard from the cooking smells of the wet kitchen and also hide the visual clutter, we simple hung curtains. This also helped to block the heat as this window faces the western sun
