Sort of a service yard? π As an older resale unit, we don't exactly have a service yard. I see the homes of others having a specific, segregated area for their washer, accompanied by walls and a door... ...I think we have something similar but without the walls and door π Very fortunately, our kitchen is supposedly very large in size, allowing us to form a L-shape with our countertop. This helped carved an area out to form a makeshift "service yard" We have a washer & dryer lined behind the tail end of the L With the water pipes boxed up inside these cabinets! 
Functional cabinets too π This houses almost all of our cleaning supplies Initially, it felt like a stretch that we had to "reach over" (above) the washer & dryer to retrieve those supplies but pullout racks are easily purchasable too! And made things much easier for us Opposite the washer & dryer - ample walking space. Above it is our automated drying rack too, allowing us to utilise it comfortably Yes, our kitchen is truly very spacious π₯Ή So thankful!
