  • A dressing table or vanity area was one of my biggest concerns when meeting with interior designers. I would always ask, “Where do you think is the most suitable spot?” Most suggested integrating it into the wardrobe or placing it beside the window. However, we wanted to fully utilise our wardrobe for clothes and keep our bedside tables clutter-free, so those options didn’t feel right. Then, one of the designers had a brilliant idea—a solution that wasn’t in the wardrobe, nor by the window. And it worked perfectly for our space! This is just one of my vanity setups. But what about the hidden one? Read on to find out! 👀
  • If you look at our floor plan, you’ll notice a recessed area in Bedroom 2. Initially, we weren’t sure how to make full use of it until one of the designer came up with a brilliant idea. Instead of letting that space go to waste, they suggested hacking the wall and flushing it in line with Bedroom 2. By doing this, the recessed area became part of our master bedroom, creating the perfect nook for a vanity. This simple yet effective layout change allowed us to carve out a functional space without compromising our wardrobe or bedside tables. I was so happy with this idea!
  • We managed to fit a five-drawer chest and a large mirror into this space. Although the drawers protrude slightly, they do not obstruct the walkway, and we still have ample room to move around comfortably. This setup provides both functionality and aesthetics, making the most of our recessed vanity area.
  • We added light on the ceiling for vanity area so that when one of us goes to work early morning while the other is still sleeping, the light shining won't bother us.
  • We also added a double power point on the side because I knew I would be using my Dyson Airwrap regularly. Better to have two than just one. Who knows, we might need an extra outlet for something else in the future! To keep everything organised, I bought this stand for my Dyson attachments so I don’t have to keep taking them in and out of the box. It makes getting ready so much easier and keeps the vanity clutter-free.
  • Here’s where it gets interesting. We have another vanity area hidden within this space! Can you guess where it is?
  • You’re getting closer! Keep guessing! 👀
  • Here it is! Did you guess it right? 🤭 Another brilliant idea I came across online was this hidden vanity area built into the side of our wardrobe. If you haven’t noticed yet, we are obsessed with curves. When we requested curved edges for our wardrobe, our ID suggested that a fixed curve would be more practical than a curved door. We agreed, but that also meant there would be some unused space. To make the most of it, we opted for this hidden vanity storage, which keeps everything neatly tucked away. It’s such a smart way to maximise space without compromising on design!
  • We got a full-length mirror to check our outfit of the day. The space is also perfect for storing a portable steamer (which is a lifesaver for someone like me who is too lazy to iron 🤪), perfumes, daily essentials like moisturiser, and some go-to makeup. Everything is neatly organised and easily accessible! Having two vanity areas, one open and one hidden, has been such a game changer for us. The recessed vanity seamlessly blends into our space while the hidden vanity keeps everything organised and out of sight. Both serve their purpose perfectly without compromising storage or aesthetics. From clever space planning to maximising every inch of our home, this setup has made getting ready so much more convenient. Whether it’s a quick touch up or a full glam session, everything I need is within reach. Would you prefer an open vanity or a hidden one like ours? Let me know what you think! 💭✨
