  • Housewarming II: welcome to a series of "what tiles did you select!" Most of our selections were made from Hafary- going with the grey/ textured/ stone theme. Our ID suggested for us to choose a similar tone living room and kitchen tile to create a seamless walk through and it's one of the best ideas we think back on and praise him for! We selected the kitchen tiles with a slight roughness in texture to create that slight difference when you walk through the spaces, we used the same tile to fill the back splash as well to make the space look wider.
  • As for our serviceyard, we contemplated on tiling it GREY, since we wanted a space with a pop of colour, some brightness and started sourcing for perenakan type tiles. We stopped by Soon bee huat and soon discovered this unique patterned ones. In fact, these are the most "asked about" set of tiles in our house, absolutely #noregrets with choosing something different for this space! These tiles were smaller being 20x20cm, so the contrast was definitely there with the rest of our home tiles all being 60x60cm!
  • As for the Kitchen counters, we ultimately decided on Kompacplus, but it really wasn't a tough decision seeing how we loved the matte look. We went with the right most light grey finish, and was super happy since it have a slight "limewash" textured finish too. Plus kompacplus is really super fuss free, doesn't stain (unless you leave like kimchi juice on it for a few hours) and is quite heat resistant too!
  • So we've tiled up most areas of the home, except for our bedroom. For 2 main reasons: 1. Initial plans to go for the herringbone pattern 2. We wanted montessori beds on floor This was the only area we decided on vinyl overlays. (Here you can see the skeleton of our walk in wardrobe- more on this later!☺️)
