  • Our entryway is really simple - I've come to learnt that minimalism is really not an interior design style but rather, a way of life. So we have been keeping everything simple and rather tucked away. However, here are still 3 things we highly recommend everyone to get for your entryway!
  • FIRST While I definitely would not call our house a smart home, having a digital lock is something I'd highly highly recommend. It auto-locks, opens at a push of a button and you never have to worry about not bringing the house key out. The biggest convenience though, is if you're out or especially overseas, you can give a temporary passcode to trusted ones to help pet-sit, water your plants, or check on your home! Also, because our washing machine, laundry rack and robo-vacuum are all smart devices, ensuring connectivity to the laundry area is important. The husband thus decided to put a wifi mesh at the entryway to extend the connectivity.
  • NEXT Having a mirror really made a huge difference. You get to check your full outfit... WITH SHOES! It also does help visually beautify the place.
  • LAST While we did not really want open-shelves, having one just right by the door gives us space to put things like our shopee parcels and uncategorised items that we aren't sure where to put yet. However, our general rule is not to let anything be placed there more than 3 days! So whether is it a mini bench or mini shelf, allocate some space to put away stuff or else the sofa's or dining table's gonna be it... which ends up a bigger mess.
  • BONUS Put a cute and colourful doormat, it makes a difference to the mood! :D
