  • Welcome to our living room, where style meets comfort in a cozy, minimalist setting. We've thoughtfully designed this space to be both functional and inviting, perfect for relaxing after a long day or entertaining friends. From carefully chosen furniture to clever storage solutions, every detail is meant to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere while keeping things sleek and uncluttered. 🌿✨
  • For reference, here’s the "before" photo from the seller. 📸 It’s amazing to see how far this space has come with a little creativity and vision! It was important for us to have the sofa on the other side instead so we have more privacy by not facing the entryway. This is also better fengshui for us!
  • The cropped photo doesn't do justice to how much I adore my Samsung The Frame TV. The matte finish on the screen is perfect for showcasing photos and art, bringing a vibrant touch to the space. But the real game-changer? Hiding the TV wires! Keep reading to see how we pulled it off. 📺✨
  • In the first photo, you can spot the bay seats by the windows, a personal customization project I took on myself. Going the Taobao route saved me 5 times the cost compared to my interior designer's quote. And yes, it’s made from solid wood! The quality of the carpentry from Taobao is impressive, and we topped it off with a custom memory foam cushion, perfectly sized to fit. (S$45) For those curious, the curtains you see in the photo are also tailored and customized from Taobao—more on that later. 🪟✨
  • Here’s the secret to hiding the TV wires! Every TV has a digital box that needs to be accessible for HDMI connections and more. We solved this by installing a fake wall, running the wires diagonally behind it, and then drilling a hole through my affordable but sturdy bay seats to pull the wires through. You’ll also notice a power track attached to the wall for additional appliances, if needed. This is why I’m such a fan of Taobao carpentry—it’s high quality, but I don’t stress about making modifications like drilling holes! 🛠️✨
  • We also opted for a double track for our curtains, allowing us to layer translucent and opaque curtains. This setup is perfect for transforming the space during movie nights or letting sunlight gently filter through. The curtain track only cost about S$30, and the custom curtains were around S$50. Installation was a breeze—we hired a curtain shop in Singapore to drill the holes for just S$25. 🪟✨
