  • Welcome to our private space. Our comfort space to recharge daily before the start of a new day. It is an easy decision on how we would want to design for the master. We had enjoyed the huge amount of storage space and convenience of having a platform bed in our first home. Having a platform is another non-negotiable item for our second home.
  • We requested for storages around our king size bed. Hence, we have two large sink in storages in front of the bed and 4 side drawer storages. How they have been serving us: 1. Sink in storage - one for our extra bags which we used them occasionally. The other storage for bulky blankets and extra pillows. 2. Pull out drawers - We used them to store our bedsheets. Keep them exclusively in these drawers so that they wont look messy in our wardrobe. We had also created an arch step due to the height of our platform. This has become the center piece within our master.
  • Here, you are standing at the entrance of our master. If you have caught up with our first post, you would now have a better visual of our reconfigured master room. This layout has a much better flow from the living to our master, which also provide us sufficient privacy from the kids and also when there are guests. Mrs most enjoyed having the platform as it so much more convenient to change the bedsheet compared to a bedframe. The shifting and lifting a king size bed isnt easy if its a one-woman-job.
  • A second view from the other side of our bedroom. Our master toilet is just located right next to our entrance, away from our bed. Having a new bedroom layout, gives us ample of space to have lots of storage space. We ended with a full height wardrobe on the side of the room along with a half height of drawers cabinets (facing the bathroom) to act as a vanity. Smooth flow of movements from the wardrobe, to vanity to bathroom.
  • With a heavy carpentry in our master, colour contrast is important. We choose a darker wood tone for our master to create a warmer effect for our master. It does help us to reenergize from a busy day at work and kids duties.
  • This time round, we opted for recessed handles on our wardrobe. Simple and seamless. It could also prevent from any form of injuries if the kids are playing around this area.
  • This is our second home and we planned to be a longer stay because of our growing up kids. This is the only room which we requested for build in wardrobe, hence maximizing as much space as we could and yet keeping it within our budget. Similar to our first home, we installed corner fans in all our rooms to create that sleek and elegant look along with our feng shui advice. It can also get very dangerous to have ceiling fan right above our beds. Dont you think so? Being parents, we are usually up very early and end our day late to enjoy our me-time. Having two curtains seems unnecessary for us, hence installing a black out night curtain is practical enough. Now that we have come to an end of our room tour. Let us know which pointers resonate to you the most?
