  • Welcome to our common bathroom! As usual, we opted for a similar color palette to the rest of the house so the toilet has very creamish floor and wall tiles + the same dark wood laminate for our vanity. Oh yes and how can we forget the curvesssss - check out our curved shower screen 😍 I personally am not a huge fan of mirror vanities because I feel that it looks rather bulky, and also because I like odd shaped mirrors for the artistic vibe whereas most mirror vanities are either round or rectangular so we decided to go with a regular wall mirror + a built in vanity because we knew we needed the storage space to keep a clean and clutter-free toilet. Why a built in vanity and not an off the shelf one, you may ask? We visited a few stores but we couldn't find an exact vanity that was the right shade of walnut brown to match the rest of the house - by having a custom made vanity with our ID, that would ensure that the exact same piece of laminate is used for the vanity so problem solved! + the price honestly wasn’t too unreasonable.
  • A full view of the common bathroom! (Sorry should have put the seat down 🙃) Like most BTO owners, we opted to change the egg crate pipe covers on the ceiling to acrylic panels. Together with that, we decided to add a LED strip light! Best decision ever 🤩 We actually installed another ceiling light (not captured in this picture unfortunately but we have Shiok Lighting’s Idro Ceiling Lamp) because we thought the cove light would not be enough but we rarely touch the Idro at all now because the cove light is actually really bright!
  • And here is our master bathroom! Funnily enough, our master bathroom is actually a little less spacious than our common bathroom, by that I mean the non-shower area - this is because we have a really long shower area. Because of this, we had to get a slightly shorter vanity, and also installed our toilet roll holder on the vanity itself. Due to the location of the toilet window, we couldn’t go for a very large mirror as well so we chose a longish one instead! We opted for a circular sink so it would take up slightly less countertop space since it’s a smaller space we’re working with. As for our countertop, we strongly strongly recommend going for a sintered stone top! Firstly, the sink and tap itself is quite a fair bit of weight, so you need to have a material that’s able to withstand pressure and weight. Secondly, due to the wet nature of a bathroom, there are bound to be mould and stains etc - for sintered stone, it really doesn’t stain so it’s perfect! And lastly, it’s water proof too!
  • Likewise for our master bathroom, we also have a cove lighting and a ceiling light - but as you can see from the picture, we gravitate towards the cove light still! We would recommend going for a full closed shower for your master bathroom so you can keep the rest of your bathroom clean and dry. Not sure if you can spot our little floor trap but we decided to change it up for the aesthetics - no regrets on the aesthetic part, but on a practical part, the water flow can be pretty slow, especially if there’s some hair trapped under it so most of the time, we take out the tile and leave the drainage open for better water flow.
  • We wanted to spice things up a little for our master bathroom so we decided to go with a little feature wall! Initially we thought it was gonna cost us a lot but because it’s just one wall, it was actually quite affordable - no regrets at all 😍 it’s been 3 months so far and we don’t have issues with cleaning or maintenance too!
