Welcome in! Being in a hectic, fast-paced job that demands constant human interaction, I often find my 'social quota' depleted by day's end. My bedroom, therefore, serves as a sanctuary where I can recharge and unwind after the chaos. Embracing a minimalist ethos, I removed all unnecessary elements, creating a serene and uncluttered haven. This minimalist yet cosy retreat is my refuge, offering the calm and comfort essential for resetting and prepping for whatever the next day may bring.
I use ambient lighting that delicately envelops the space in a soothing glow as I carry out my bedtime rituals. This soft, warm light creates an oasis of tranquility, enhancing the serene environment, as I unwind for the day. We decided against having a television in our master bedroom to maintain a tranquil and restful environment. By keeping the room free of electronic distractions, we’ve created a peaceful sanctuary conducive to relaxation and quality rest. The centerpiece of my bedroom is a queen-sized bed from Origin LumbarCloud. As someone with a bad back, this mattress offers unparalleled therapeutic support. We are a household big on bedding. Bedding is of paramount importance to us, as we believe that comfortable bedding is crucial for a restful night’s sleep. We have no tolerance for anything less than smooth, luxurious sheets; rough and uncomfortable fabrics are abominable. Our commitment to quality means we’re willing to invest in bedding that offers silky softness, breathability, and a luxe finish. Over time, we’ve amassed a considerable collection of bedding, and we’re always on the lookout for exceptional new additions. Given our penchant for bedding hoarding, we realized we needed a dedicated space to store all our prized finds. We decided to build a platform with drawers to neatly contain our stash. For this, we chose Jenning Baby Touch laminate, drawn to its exceptionally soft, "baby’s bum" feel. This choice ensures that walking barefoot on the platform is as comfortable as possible, adding a touch of luxury to our storage solution.
In this household, you don't snooze, you lose. It is a nightly battle for space with the little one who, more often than not, gets her way. This set of bed linen is Bailey approved; a quality that meets even the highest standards—whether they come from a tiny, discerning critic or our own quest for perfect comfort.
Our windows offer a picturesque view overlooking the treetops, creating a sense of treehouse living. This serene outlook is not only a charming backdrop for us but also a source of endless fascination for the little one. We often find her gazing out the windows, captivated by the world as it passes by.
Watching the hustle and bustle of a busy morning; as people go about their day and cars traverse the streets.
We relocated the wardrobe to a dedicated walk-in wardrobe; this transformation allowed us to repurpose the area for hanging laundry that isn't quite ready for wash, as well as housing essentials for our nightly rituals. The new setup has streamlined our routines, providing a practical solution for organizing and maintaining the items we use regularly while keeping the bedroom clutter-free.
A wooden tray elegantly displays everything we need to unwind for the night. It holds our favorite moisturizers, soothing hand creams, and fragrant candles, creating a serene ritual to end the day. This thoughtful arrangement not only keeps our essentials within reach but also adds a touch of calm and order to our nightly routine.
On the opposite side of the wardrobe, it is an area for us to charge our electronics. We also plan to add a mirror to transform the space into a cove for us to do our skincare since we have our skincare fridge just below for easy access.
We are avid enthusiasts of scents and consider home fragrance essential for creating a spa-like ambiance. To extend the life and burn time of our candles, we use a candle warmer. We regularly rotate our candles to keep the atmosphere fresh and inviting. This also means we have quite a collection of candles, diffusers, room sprays and essential oils; which we would be happy to share about.
This is our skincare fridge, where we store all the products we use daily. Keeping our skincare items cold offers several advantages: it helps preserve their potency and extend their shelf life, so they remain effective for longer. Additionally, applying chilled products can enhance their soothing effects, reduce puffiness, and provide a refreshing boost to our skincare routine. This dedicated space ensures that our products are always at the optimal temperature for maximum benefits.
