  • Farouq and I discuss what we wanted in our bedroom and we defined the space to be of warmth and tranquility—a place where we could escape the hustle and bustle of the day. With that said, I was drawn to the idea of creating a space that would feel like a warm embrace, especially during the cooler , rainy months or quiet days with deeper thoughts. Here, you can observe the abundant natural light streaming through the windows, which was the starting point for the design. I knew I wanted to enhance this natural glow, so I chose a warm color palette of beige, oak-wood, warm praline-brown, and cream. These colours complement the sunlight beautifully, creating a soft and inviting atmosphere. The wooden oak accents on the wardrobe and vanity add a touch of warmth and texture, further enhancing the cozy feel of the room and incorporating some natural elements into the decor, such as the woven wall hangings and rattan accents. These elements bring a sense of nature indoors and add a touch of bohemian charm to it. The result is a bedroom that feels both serene and energising to us. It's the perfect place to relax and recharge, or to simply enjoy a quiet moment. Thanking God for the natural light 🙏!
  • I arranged a collection of woven rattan pieces in various sizes and shapes on the wall. The organic shapes and textures add visual interest and create a relaxed, eclectic atmosphere. I also included a framed photo of Farouq & I, which adds a personal touch to the feature and creates a focal point on the wall. I love how the rattan wall decor brings a sense of warmth, texture, and personality to the room. To me, this is the perfect finishing touch to our cozy space.
  • Whether it’s the morning sun or golden hour, sunlight often fills our room with a warm, inviting glow— we are truly blessed indeed! I love how the mirror reflects the light, making the space feel even brighter and more open. We picked up this beautiful rattan mirror from IKEA; its natural texture adds a touch of boho charm to the room. Next to the mirror, we place a simple bamboo ladder where we hang our daily essentials - a hat, a tote bag, prayer garments and mats. It's a practical and stylish solution for keeping our belongings organized and within reach.
  • The warm glow of the single lightbulb casts a soft, inviting light on our closet, illuminating our clothes just enough. We don't really need a lot of bright lights and thats where we save a lot! Also, the natural light during the day is plenty. But even at night, this single light is enough to create a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
  • We had a hilarious stroke of luck when we were renovating our flat. We were initially planning to purchase the toiler doors and looking for good, affordable options but one that integrates well with the theme, but we decided to take the risk and browsed through Carousell, and chanced upon our neighbour who were selling their original HDB doors! We couldn't believe our luck - two bathroom doors for just $60! It's a great hack for anyone who's booked a flat without any internal fittings. Keep an eye out for neighbors who might be selling their original HDB fixtures in your estate (this specifically for correct measurement purposes, find the one with similar projects or within your current estate). You could save a significant amount of money!
