We regretted not doing this during our Bathroom Reno

  • Would like to share about a big bathroom renovation regret in this post!
  • This was what we had to work with when we bought the house. The bathroom was basically in original condition and had no separation between the wet and dry area. You can see there was a bit of a ledge area here already!
  • As you can see from our render, there was no additional ledge planned for the sink area. During our reno, our ID realized that we would have to build out the ledge to have enough space to mount the sink. Because this was only discovered during hacking and tiling, we were only focused on the sink area and quickly agreed to build out the ledge there.
  • It was only after work was completed and after using our bathroom for a while that we realised we should have asked for the ledge to be built all the way into the shower space as well.
  • As you can see, our current shower shelf is already very full! We did not consider the amount of products the both of us use in the shower and the space required. Highly recommend pooling your shower products together when planning you reno to figure out how much in-shower storage you need!
  • If we had built out the ledge, it would have been something like this!! It would have been super handy for us to freely store our many many shower products. The additional costs involved would also have been quite minimal as we already had to build the ledge for the sink area.
