  • Welcome to oureastsideflat! :) We live in our new space with our two little doggos. Our interior design revolves around a modern transitional/coastal theme with the purpose of creating a home that marries function with form. We also wanted to create intentional designs that included our doggos as well. Would give our ID three thumbs up for making our dream home come true!
  • Despite this being the most unpopular BTO layout, we chose this unit as we knew from the get-go that we wanted a closed kitchen and would be hacking a room for a bigger living space. Our ID did a great job with space planning and this new layout allowed us have a laundry prep area, dog wash, study area, guest room, island counter, dry pantry and ample closet space all in our tiny 4 room BTO (haha we had many requirements)!
  • One of our favourite things about our home is our island. Our island acts as a separation between our dry pantry and our entryway. We created the island with the purpose of using the base as our shoe cabinet. The other side houses a power point so we can do work/bake on the island. The island can also sit 5-6 people comfortably when we have guests over! :) Also, try to spot our dutch door! Best decision ever, would highly recommend everyone with pets/kids to consider one.
  • Our kitchen in it's neatest state before we moved our barang in. Our black and beige marble tiles extend all the way from our entryway to our yard. Opted for shelves instead of top cabinets and a light coloured cabinet laminate to keep the galley kitchen feel more spacious.
  • Sneak peek of our dog wash! :)
  • Opposite our dog wash sits our laundry area. We made a counter top to make it easier for us to fold clothes/manage our laundry. We also created shelf to store laundry supplies and keep them within reach.
  • The rest of the house is covered with light coloured wood-like tiles to create a coastal vibe. We chose a wall hung TV console instead of standing ones as it makes cleaning easier and also helps make the space look bigger.
  • We hacked one bedroom into half its size to create a study nook for the husband. To prevent the space from feeling claustraphobic, we created a glass window on one wall and installed glass sliding doors on another. This also allows more light into the dining area (still work in progress).
  • Guest bedroom aka the mahjong room. This sofa can be converted into a super singer bed if required!
  • Guest bathroom. We chose black and white tiles/bathroom fittings to match the white HDB wall tiles (saved us so much $$$).
  • Our master bedroom~ We chose a blue patterned wallpaper for our feature wall. Don't you think that wallpaper really elevates the feel of a room? On a side note, would also highly recommend the Woosa bed to anyone who suffers from lower back pain!
  • Opposite our bed sits our wardrobe which extends the entire wall (refer to the floorplan above). Really love how our wardrobe turned out!
  • We went with blue and beige tiles for our master bath and accentuated the look with gold bathroom fittings. We also kept the white HDB wall tiles here and chose white sanitary fittings to create a cohesive feel. Opted for half wall with shampoo niche because glass is so hard to maintain! That is the end of our home tour! Our dining area is still work in progress, so stay tuned for updates! :)
