What is special about CORK?
The cork material used b’WOOD is a renewable and recyclable material. Cork is the outer bark of the oak tree which grows in the Mediterranean area. Cork trees are the only tree in the world that regenerates stripped bark. No tree is cut down to harvest cork. Instead, the bark is stripped by hand. Harvested cork oak trees can live up to 300 years, and can absorb up to five times more CO2 than one that isn’t harvested.
